I was taking Arimidex as a follow up treatment after breast cancer, and after 4-5 months started having real problems with my hands, particularly the right hand - swollen fingers, thumb locking and clicking, stiffness in fingers. Also general joint aches and pains and stiffness, which are quite disabling when trying to move after resting! I have now changed to Exemestane at the end of December, but as yet have had no improvement. In fact the pains and stiffness are still getting worse, although the swollen fingers arent so bad.

Hey! Fellow cancer-sufferers/survivors! I have a question that I think really needs addressing.

Any of you who have had radiotherapy, and are male, will probably have had to have some sperm stored somewhere. I certainly have, and now, a year after my treatment finished, the storage place are demanding money off me, for continued storage!

This is totally outrageous! I can't see how they can FORCE me to pay money for something that I may never need, nor never actually have any use for. For one, I might NOT actually be infertile, there's no-one who's checked that. Secondly, the stored sperm still doesn't guarantee sucess if I ever even WANT a baby (which I don't know I do yet...). Thirdly, how can they charge someone for something that we HAVE to have?

My doctor says I don't have a leg to stand on, because my PCT doesn't pay for Sperm Storage, so, what am I supposed to do? Pay the £200 each year???? Comments will be much appreciated.

A friend and I were talking about cancer, she says when someone gets cancer and after treatment, is then medically declared cancer free, that person will get cancer again, no matter what. As she put it, it may be 5, 10, even 25 years they will get it again if they do not die due to something else first. I don't believe that and have never heard that before. I am hoping for a real answer to this question, thanks

My dad was recently diagnosed with cancer, and I'm afraid that I think not only I am losing respect for him, he is losing respect for himself. I don't really know how to cope with it, I've never been in a situation like this before. I guess I don't have a question, but more or less support, or what I can do so I feel better for him, and he feels better for himself.

My boss is dying of cancer and was given about a month left to live. The entire family is Greek and I am really fond of my boss and his wife. I really want to do something to help them, but I do not know what I should do, or can do to help. Since they are Greek, I am not sure of their customs when it comes to a Greek woman losing her husband. Anyone know anything I can say or do to help?

When someone has cancer and they take kemo, or radiation treatments, does it really help? I have a friend that is 30 years old and she is on her death bed. She has swelled up like a balloon with water in it, and I was wondering what causes this, and does the treatments given for cancer really work, or does it just prolong death for a while?

She was diagnosed 1 year ago with a brain tumor, which was removed, and then it has just spread rapidly throughout her body.

I know if left untreated will develop cancer. I know that. But why does everyone act as if it is not a big deal. Is my life going to change? will I live less? Is it really not a big deal?
