The specialist tells me there is only a 5% chance the lump is malign but advises me to have it removed just in case and to do it in the next 6 weeks . He says the body can function with just one thyroid . Has anyone had the operation or know what the after effects might be ?

I have lumps in my breast, instead of getting a mammogram i got an ultrasound and now i have to get a biopsy of the breast in which they remove tissue and test it for cancerous cells..do it hurt? what is the whole procedure? thanx

I am 29 and am being treated for breast cancer. My onc told me he was concerned about my current weight. I start chemo (A/C) in a few days and he says there will be weight loss. I weigh 105 pounds. Any ideas on foods that can give me weight gain besides unhealthy foods? Any answers would be most appreciated. Thank you!

A girl that I have a crush on at school just got diagnosed with leukemia over the holidays. I normally don't get so upset about things like this, but I just want to do something to help. The only problem is that I haven't ever really talked to her much. At the beginning of school, we had a class together and I would just say hi every now and then. But she got switched to another class after a week or two. A friend mentioned me to her, and she didn't even remember/ know who I was (before the leukemia diagnosis). Also, I am really good friends with her best friend. I just don't know what to do for her. We're all 14, so we can't drive. I feel so helpless right now; I can't imagine what she and her family are going through. I've prayed and prayed and prayed for her, but I just feel like it's my fault that I don't know of what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do for her? Thank you all so much.

I was watching the news and this man died from ovarian cancer but how is that possible if men don't have ovaries? I heard it was very rare for a man to die of ovarian cancer but when ovarian cancer occurs in men, why does it????

is it normal for a 13 year old to have a pain in her breast when presure is put on it...oh and i have alump witch causes the pain! But all most all my ave a pain in their breasts...and a lump...but not as big as mine (2 inch)

these past few mths and days i have been having right side chest pain and painful pin pricks all over my body, and headache.I also have other symptoms. when to a neurologist and he has not gotten back to me on my blood test results but from what i know is i am 100% HIV negative.Just wandering whether Cancer causes this symptoms especially Lung Cancer.
