My mom found a large size (oval, movable) painful lump on her right side of breast (near armpit). Ive known that cancer lumps are painless, but her age indicates that she is at a higher risk (55years)..she refuses to see a doctor beacuse she is afraid is cancer! has anyone had a similar experience and turned out it wasn't cancer?

My father was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma and went through the standard chemo and now receives a shot of antibodies on a regular basis. But I was just wondering if anyone knows of any natural or alternative therapies to prevent it coming back (ex. herbal remedies, exercises?). Appreciate any responses, thanks everyone.

My mom is 56 yrs old she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. She had a masectomy done. At first she was unwilling to consider breast reconstruction but now after going through radition and chemotherapy she has been cancer free since April 2006 and now needs help to reconstruct her breast, she has no private medical insurance, she was lucky to find a program that assisted her with her medical needs but they do not offer help for reconstruction.. if you have any info that will lead me in the right direction to help her, I would apperciate it tremendously and I know she would too.

Hi all...
I'm 21 years old and last week I found a lump in my breast a week ago and my doctor performed an exam today. He doesn't think it's anything serious, in fact he said that he believes it to be a fibroadenoma. Anyway, he scheduled me for a mammogram next week just to be safe and to have a baseline incase I should ever have another problem. I'm really nervous I've heard such horrible things...anyway does anyone have any words of encouragement? =) My husband can only say so much...I don't think he knows quite what it's like...lol. I would appreciate words, prayers, anything you have to offer. =) Thanks.

Two months ago my father was given a clean bill of health by his physician. He previously had lung cancer and it was treated with chemo. Last week he was diagnosed with Leukemia and was given 2 to 3 days to live. He died the next day. Can Leukemia develop and spread that quickly?

Doctors say it doesn't look good. My step-dad and I usually get along well, but now he's depressed and doesn't want to talk to anyone about anything. How do I act toward him now that he is so sensitive?

My dad thinks he has throat cancer but wont know for sure until he goes to the doctor to get something down his throat to examin it. If he does have a tumor on his throat and has to get it removed what doctor would you recommend in the east coast area and if possible could you provide a website linked to this doctor and/or a telephone number.

He went to the regular doctor who said to go to a specialist which he is doing later this month, the regular doctor said it was white and looked like that meant cancer.

Has anyone had throat cancer and what happened?? Please help!..thank you!

I just found out that my dad might have lung cancer. The doctor said it was likely, but they have to run more tests. If anyone reading this has been through this themselves or with a loved one, can you tell me, what does "might" mean, when it comes to cancer? Is it really more likely that he does have it, then doesn't, if they are testing for it? Or is it a 50/50 type thing?

Out of the blue, I just got a mole on my fingertip about two weeks ago. It's flat, tiny and very dark brown. Is it normal to have moles magically appearing on yourself (especially the fingertip, of all places)? Is it skin cancer? I always use sunblock (even though I live in perpetually foggy San Francisco) and I'm never outside for long. Help me? Please?

A new survey suggests that a quarter of people actually think that fate will determine wether they get cancer or not. Isn't it time that these people got into the real world, got an eduation and started to have some respect for science (which might actually save their lives one day).?
Fact: Fate doesn't exist, it is an abstract concept.
Fact: Cancer is caused by a number of factors, reduce the factors and you increase you chances of survival.
