Well - I'm not sure I understand your question...

Are you wondering what the shots were for or do you actually have cervical cancer?

Your cervix is inside your vagina - it's the "entry way" to your uterus (the place that a baby grows when a woman is pregnant)

It sounds like you got a shot that would prevent you from getting certain types of cervical cancer which is caused by the HPV (Human Pappiloma(sp?) Virus)...

There is a new vaccine against the Human Papilloma Virus which causes genital warts and may cause cancer of the cervix. So the vaccine is a good thing to have. The cervix is a muscular ring at the end of the vagina where it opens into the uterus. If your mother can't (or won't) explain this to you, check out information online or in the library about sexual health. HPV is spread through sexual intercourse, and is the overwhelming cause of cancer of the cervix. There's an effort right now to vaccinate girls before they become sexually active, in order to knock out this particular risk. That doesn't mean you can let your guard down, because there are plenty of other infectious sexually transmitted diseases around.

peneal (sp?) refers to the area between the vagina and surrounding the anus. It is one place you can get genital warts.
Genital warts are the cause of cervical cancer (one of the causes I should say)
The cervix is at the top of the vagina - like a cap almost.
I'm guessing you recieved a vaccine to protect you from the virus that causes Genital Warts - it is being marketed as a preventative for cervical cancer.
Good Luck - practice safe sex when you are older anyways - there are a lot of things that are worse than Genital warts....
Like having to tell someone that you really like that you have herpes....

Cervical cancer is a cancer in the cervix for women and the only way of detection is getting a pap smear. It can be deadly and diagnosed at different stages. If you have any concern about it go to a gynocologists as soon as possible.

I think that you need to talk to your mother about the shot that you got today. My guess would be the new shot to prevent you from getting human papalloma virus otherwise known as genital warts. If women get this type of warts it makes it much more likely that they will get cervical cancer. The shot to prevent them is new and I would encourage all young girls to get it as it runs rampant out there and could well save your life. Do talk to your mom though. You need to get clarification anytime a physician is talking about any type of cancer. Good luck.

cervical=cervix (sp?) It is inside your vagina. Look at a diagram at the anatomy of your vagina or research cervical cancer.
