You have not elaborated the stage and grade of Cancer your husband has. Have you shown him to an Certified oncologist ? What are the treatments given.
He might be feeling anaemic and his blood counts might have dropped due to the strong medicines given in chemo therapy. Generally after Chemo therapy the blood count drastically drop and the oncologist will not give next cycle unless the counts improve. They would have given some medication and Iron pills to improve blood count. If necessary they will infuse some bags of blood as per requirement and there is nothing to worry. It is not necessary he should take more red meat or any such thing. He can take normal food as usual.
Please do ot worry and act per the advice of your Oncologist. -

What kind of treatment has he been on? I just finished treatment for colon cancer, including chemo therapy and had this problem. The chemo was part of the problem. There is medicine which can increase the blood count. There are new treatments for cancer. Is this doctor a specialist, or a M.D.(general practitioner)? If he is a regular doctor you need to find an oncologist, or a hematologist(especially since there's a problem with the blood).I don't know where you live, but it would be worth a trip to have your husband checked out. No matter what happens, keep faith that God is in control. Everything will work out as it should. Peace be unto you and good luck. Don't let this go too long and ask friends and family to pray for your husband if they aren't already.

Nothing else can be, after seeing oncologist I am sure he will benefit from visiting Nutritional Therapist as now days cancer is not irreversible...at least can help with the right diet for the red blood cells! as per me if meat make it organic..you don't wont to know what all the rest contains...not only will not help with the anemia but will harm your husband as well. Organic eggs a good source of Iron as well.
good luck

Widely spread cancers can cause anemia as can chemotherapy. Your diet needs red meat for iron anyway.
