It could be that the gland in your art pit is imflamed from a virus like a cold or the flu. It does not always mean cancer or really bad diseases.

If the pain is in your left arm and you feel it start to move toward your chest, get to an Emergency Room RIGHT AWAY -- that could be an indicator of a heart attack. If it's just a nagging pain and the pain persists, get it checked out by a doctor. May be a simple muscle strain, but it could be fibrocystitis or a pre-cancerous growth.

you're gonna have to be more specific about the pain, is it sever? sharp? continous? related to movement?
in general pain caused by heart ischemia (angina) is sharp sever, could radiate to the armes , shoulder, neck, or jaw, and usually relived by rest, in general it doesnt last more than 15-20 min.

i would go to the doctors about this ASAP.
it could be breast cancer as this can be under your arm as well as in your breasts.

my auntie had a pain there and she found out it was breast cancer.
