She is my favourite aunt. I want to send her a card, but I dont know what to say. I feel so awkward, bc I would like to talk to her but I have never known anyone to be sick before. I feel so powerless to help.

I am a high school math teacher and a student of mine has come to confede in me. Her mother was diagnosed 2 years ago with renal cancer. This week she has gotten worse. I want to be able to help my student as much as possible but I am having a hard time with something to say. If this was my own relative or friend, we'd go out somewhere shopping or just somewhere to get her mind off of it a little but I can't take students anywhere. I also can't hug her. Her best friend keeps asking me what to do also. This girl doens't want to talk to guidance because she isn't comfortable with them. Help!! She is a sophomore, and the oldest of 4 children.

if you had cancer and went through both radiation and kemo and the cancer went away...but 5 months later you get another type of cancer can you go through kemo and radiation again? i've herd that you cant....

my doctor told me that a catscan showed i had pockets on my colon that right now are harmless, but later in life it may develop into something? has anyone else been told this or have this? and what did you use for pain. only serious answere please~thanks

I have had a scratchy throat for about a week. Not super sore... just a little dry, like a cold is coming on, but it hasn't hit me full on yet. Also, about a week ago I noticed that the right side of my throat seems to be swollen. There is no pain in it, and my mom says she thinks it's my thyroid. It's not a hard lump or anything... it's very soft. But, couple that with my sore throat and I'm worried. My dr. is closed and my googling has my mind reeling. Anyone else have this situation and it turns out to be strep or something minor (something OTHER than thyroid cancer).

2 months ago I found a lump on my chest, it was a 2cm by 2cm one, and I had gone for at least 3 different check ups to get it looked at. The doctors had informed me that it was most likely a cist, and one of the female doctors had even said that she was 90 perc sure that it was a cist - but I'm not convinced. It is so painful sometimes it feels like I'm having a palpatation attack.
I have already had my pre-assesment apointment, and am going for an operation in roughly about a week, but the nurse that I had seen said that if they found a stem on the cist, then they would have to put me under a general - does that mean if it has a stem then it is cancerous?? And being 16yrs old is it highly unlikey that I have cancer?? I know I am coming across a bit melodramatic, but my reasons for this are that high amounts of people in my family have suffered and died from cancer. I want to know if you have been there as well, and if you have recovered fully. p.s do you think i have cancer?

We were at the hospital today...doctor sent him in to have a CT done to check for problems with his appendix. That came back normal but they found swollen lymph nodes around his bowell and intestines. He has terrible stomach pain and a rash on his body. Any ideas???

My girlfriend has been diagnosed with a malignant mass at the base of her skull (it's attacking her brain stem). They performed the first surgery in January, that went fine untill they tried Chemo Therapy, which tried to shut down her CNS (they later found out she can't handle any radiation therapy or anything like that) they did a second surgery to see if they could finish it off and they got most of it but now it's back and soon it's going to take away her motor control. Is there anyway to stop it/destroy it/get rid of it? Mind you she can't have Proton Therapy, Gamma Rays, or anything such as these.

Im 32 years old. Yesterday i just realize that at my nipple got small meat, im sure that is not pimple. Im very scared, what i have to do ? i wan go to see doc but what docter i should to go to ? or i do mamogram. ct showed a mass near in end of my rectum. A PET SCAN REPORT TOLD ME NOTHING all the doctor said was to have a cat scan in 3 months, what the hell was the purpose of a cat scn and the pet scan. the doc wants to do a needle biospy near my rectum. Why can the doctors tell me if i have cancer? I have also a brain that they told it was not caancer. the symptoms are worde now. what is your opinion?
