It is not known the cause of multiple sclerosis, although some say it could be caused by a viral or bacterial infection. Does this mean ANY virus or bacteria? For example if someone had a minor bacterial skin infection, he/she could develop M.S. from that as the body tries to fight it off, and develop the autoimmune disease and it just happens to random people? or are scientists saying it might be caused by a *certain* bacterial infection or viral infection, one that causes MS

Hello, please the pimples on my back bother me, like when i scratch them I start to bleed there and they get worse when I don't clean the spots with alcohol every night after shower. The problem is that I can not reach them very well cuz I'm only 5'11" medium arms. thank u

I am a 50 yr old female who is diabetic. Just a few days ago I went to the emergency room cause of a pain I had in my groin. When the doctor came in to give me my results from the tests I took(urine, blood CAT scan) he told me everything was fine and I had nothing to worry about and it might be a muscle strain.He asked me do you know that you were born with one kidney? I said no. My mom didn't even know this. My husband mentioned maybe I should sue the hospital where I was born or other doctors since I have been x- rayed alot over the years. He said cause I have one kidney, I might get jaundice. Is this enough for a law suit? And are the statutes of limitations still valid?

I am hypothyroid. My TSH was discovered very high at 180. I am now on 150mg thyroxine daily but TSH is still too high at 19. The past few days I have been having very bad palpitations and today have felt sick all day(just got my period though so coul be due to that. Also have high BP but on medication and is about 130/80. Is it my thyroid causing these problems?

my grandma died of it a few years back and im guessing it could be hereditary. im seeing some weird things with my body :

- i've been bruising very easilly lately. i skate weekly and this time i awoken with bad bruises and been getting bruises out of nowhere last week.

-last night i woke up and my neck was sweaty. i read through stuff today and sw that swaeting alot is a sign but not sure

-just today i have this weird circle thing on my hand and its red and it bulges up a bit. like a pencil earser size

im not sure if those are symptoms or sign or what
i plann on getting checked this tuesday and i just want to make sure im not making a big deal out of this =// so if you have any info or suggestions on cancer please just tell. thanks<3

If this is too much to read skip to the bottom my question is there. But the following story gives some background.

Okay 4 years ago my mom went to the cardiologist to find out why she has a heart murmor. They did and ECG and discovered she had a "bi cuspid aeortic valve". We were told its not a big deal that she would just have to take an antibiotic before going to the dentist and really didnt have any other effect on her life.
Now 2 months ago she had the flu. After she recovered from that she realized how much weaker, and easily out of breath she was getting. She also started feeling her heart "go flip flop". I told her to go to the doctor because of her heart.
They did and EKG and imediately sent her to the cardiologist for and ECG. He told her that her valve was "thickened" and needed replaceing soon. So she now has an appt with a cardiovasculer surgeon in 2 weeks.

My question is : What things she we ask or make sure we are aware of before the surgery?

I lost my dad in January. He was on home hospice and was on morphine due to pain in his spine (where the tumor metastasized).

Do you feel your parent is watching over you? My dad said he would watch over me. Sometimes I feel like he is, but I'm not sure if it's just wishful thinking.

and got x-rays blood tests and ekgs. nothing has been found. and i was wondering what are the signs of kidney failure? and would my blood test have found it? becuse i am starting to have muscle twitches . i went to the er becuse i was spitting up blood and blood in stool and they found nothing. in the anal exam and i havent spit up blood or blood in stoll since a week ago after the visit. and I HAVE BEEN HAVEING A LOT OF HEADACHES AND THEY GAVE ME A CT scan and found nothing. now i am getting pain in my kegs and arms. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME???

I believe I have a inflamed lymph node near the left jaw. Whenever I open my mouth or chew that area hurts. It is also a bit swollen, in the mirror my left side seems to jut out a bit. I have no fever, chills, or any symptoms besides the slight pain and appearance. I tried to put on some antibiotics and used a cold compress and it worked a little bit. Should I try anything else or perhaps see a doctor? I will see if any new symptoms develop tomorrow. Thanks for all the help |!

babysitting cousin today
all aunt said when she dropped him off was that he felt sick yesterday
when he woke up (came early in morning so he took a nap)
he said he had thrown up like 4 times yesterday, but he feels ok today
he said he didnt really have any other symptoms
he hasnt eaten since yesterday, and the last time he threw up was like last night but he said "I didnt even know I threw up" (hes only 6 so i dont really get what that means, maybe he didnt wake up) hes been at our house for 5hours
will i catch it if he was sick yesterday?
is he probably still sick?
what can i do to not catch it?

Please help me!! I have these old black marks on my legs caused by chicken pox when I was way younger..and now, it even worsened because I had some caused by mosquito bites.When my legs itch, it becomes red and it goes bumpy and i'll have scars.. It is totally freaking me out!! I can't wear short pants and skirts because it's not good to be seen.. Scars are not bumped.. They are like on the surface and my legs looks pretty dicolorated.. Help! I'm pretty desperate..

I have no symptoms of virus,no stomach aches...no anything,just diarrhea.It's the second time this happens,the 1st time was a little over a month ago and it only lasted 3 days,this time I'm on my 4th day and still no signs of "healing".My stomach doesn't ache when I have to go like normal diarrhea...Like I said...I feel good besides having to run to the bathroom every ten mins. any Idea of what can this be...

I went to the ER last night b/c I had a lot of blood in my urine and it hurt like hell so they tested my urine which was red by the way and came back with a prescription for a bladder infection. I woke up yesterday morning with my foot swollen. I thought it would go away today, but it didn't. My leg seems to B fine, but in the foot area closes to my toes. It's pretty swollen, what can it B?? What should I do? It doesn't itch, or burn, or anything like that it's just swollen. It's only one foot, I haven't been sick or anything like that, but still just the fact that it didn't go down from one day to the next, makes me wonder, what it could B or how I got it. I don't like going to see the doctor, expecially when I don't feel it an emergency. What do U think I should do?
