I was always fascinated by the Black Plague and have done reports on it several times. Other treatments that were used were specific to the symptoms such as:
lung symptoms - licorice and comfrey
headache - sweet smelling herbs (sage, rose, lavendar, bay)
stomach pain - wormwood, mint and balm
cleansing - vinegar

Of course, blood letting was used in Elizabethean times as well.

An interesting bit of trivia, did you know that the nursery rhyme, "Ring Around the Rosy," was really based on the Black Plague?

I'm assuming you're asking for curiosity/research and not because you actually have this, since it's extremely rare and may be a target for bioterrorism these days. Great plaque/bubonic plaque is caused by the bacteria Yersinia Pestis, that live in rats, and can be spread to human by fleas, cats, and other humans. Antibiotics streptomycin, doxycycline, and fluoroquinolones work to cure this infection, although the mortality rate is still pretty high even with treatment.
