Check for gluten free crackers - here in Australia they're in the Health aisle. To go with them, you can usually find dips and spreads that don't contain gluten, but watch out for soy sauce, malt vinegar & maltodextrin (if from wheat) in the ingredients. You'll have to check the labels every time you buy the products, as ingredients change sometimes.
I like tinned fish too, but again, if it's flavoured, check the label.
Sometimes I snack on carrot and celery sticks with GF dips. Cheeses are usually ok. Be careful with processed meat such as ham, but you can sometimes find a good quality one - just check the label or contact the manufacturer. As a general rule, German smallgoods are not gluten free, but Italian ones are, but you should always check.
Then there's nuts, dried fruit and, if you can find them, stuffed Greek vine leaves in a tin, called dolmades.
Plain potato chips (crisps) can be GF, and there are rice crackers too.
Hope this helps!

This is so odd. I'd never heard of the disease until yesterday when a friend emailed me about her diagnosis.
According to what she tells me, potato and rice flours are ok. But labels of prepared foods need to be read carefully because sometimes wheat is in there where you'd least expect it (frozen french fries, for instance).
You're lucky. She tells me that only 1 in 40 cases gets diagnosed and the average time it takes to get the diagnosis is 10 - 11 years. She's lucky -- she loves salads. And, I'm lucky NOT to have the disease because I'm a carb addict.
Hang in there. You'll eventually get the hang of it.

There are TONS!! U are asking for snacks speficially so I'll start there! First I advise you visit www.celiac.com and search for "forbidden food list" it will bring u to a safe and forbidden foods list. Print it, memorize and learn to read labels!! You absolutely must be able to read labels an dknow the alternative names for gluten if you have CD.
LOTS of stuff tastes good.
Fruit, veggies, most meats, most dairy (some contain gluten, again, read labels.
As for snacks, I am not a big snacker, but there are tons of Gluten Free snacks, foods and meals available. Instead of listing some, I'll list the websites wher eu can find them and you can read otehrs reviews and maybe find a few in your local store!
Best of luck!!
www.glutino.com (awesome breads, bagels and cookies)
www.glutenfree.com
www.beta.kinninnick.com (that might be mispelled-I buy them in the store, donuts, pizza crusts, breads)
www.glutensolutions.com (tons of stuff, including GF crackers, cookies, all kinds of stuff.)
www.amazon.com/grocery (buy in bulk, save. Pamela's brand cake and cookie mixes are awesome and ANYONe can make them! So easy!)
www.csaceliacs.org offers a Gluten Free product listing book u can use to help find GF products in the grocery store.
Walmart brand, Great Value, lists their GF products in large letters near the address as GLUTEN FREE.
Let me know if I can help anyway else!

i'm additionally celiac. i discover that when i do no longer consume gluten for a protracted time, and then unexpectedly by possibility consume something with gluten in it, my physique reacts extraordinarily promptly and extraordinarily badly. for my area, the greater I stay faraway from it, the greater well-off I substitute into to exposure to it. while you're prepared to handle the horrid discomfort that contains it afterwards, that's finally your selection. yet bear in mind, as celiacs, gluten will reason harm via pulling down the villi.
