Insomnia is usually a result of failure of the SMR (Sensory Motor Rhythm) functions of the brain. There are therapies available to stimulate this function using a frequency entrainment device, there are even cds which do it, rda-enterprises dot com sells them. If you use it each night just prior to sleep, your brain will usually begin to function regularly again.

I've heard alot of success stories with Tylenol P.M. I use Melatonin. It's produce naturally by your body, and sometimes our bodies don' make enough. If you want to try it, you can buy it anywhere that carries vitamins and minerals. Start with the 1mg. If that doesn't work, you can increase to 3mg. If you get too much, you'll know because you have very bizarre vived dream. Just cut back until you get the dosage right. It's non-addictive and works great. Always allow 8 hours for sleep when using. Good luck with your insomnia-it sucks to lose your sleep!

Insomnia may be a hormonal issue and you should have a complete hormonal panel done before taking any sleeping medication.
There is a wonderful supplement that has helped me a great deal called Somnolin. It is available from a company called Metagenics. I take 2 before bed and it really helps.
Best of luck to you!
