My best friend of 13 years has been diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. The doctors gave her 3-5 years. Does anyone have hope of living past that? Is there any web sites I can research to learn more? What is the best thing I can do for her? She lives in Boston MA and I live in Missouri. We talk everyday still with the occasional flight to visit. I couldnt feel more useless right now.

My boyfriend was just diagnosed with Graves Disease, and he has been put on medication, two different meds, not sure the name. We had been wondering for a while why he was shaking so much, his heart was pounding, and his eyes began buldging. Here is the problem, He is incarcerated for the next 33 months, and is only able to obtain minimal information about everything, including his disease, from in there, there are just not enough resorces. I want to learn everything I can, and send him in all the info I can, so that he will be ok, and less stressed, and when he comes home, we can have a long happy life together. Can anyone please help??????

not every obese person just sits around and stuffs their face constantly..they also may have an eating disorder, but society will not recognize that at all! All society does is "feel sorry" for someone who is anorexic and have "disgust" for someone who is obese.

I've just been diagnosed. I've looked at all the internet info on the disease/disorder itself (mine's from diabetes). I want to hear from people living with this and how they cope. I am in my first month of a severe "attack". No bowel movements without extreme medical intervention and lots of nausea and vomiting. I've lost 15 lbs, a bunch of hair and my get up and go has got up and went!
I've got a copy of a diet for gastroparesis which I am following religiously and am on 5 new meds a day, but so far no change. If nothing improves in the next 10 days I will scheduled for surgery.

If a person with diabetes is out on dialysis 3 times a week for 3 hours how long is there life expectancy if they do not follow all the doctors orders and miss probably one treatment a week. Their kidneys went from a 2 to a 6 in 2 1/2 weeks. The doctor did emergency surguries and put the cath tube in an artery in the neck (not in the arm as usual) and started dialysis treatments 10 hours after surgery. With these conditions how much longer will the person live. Please only give serious answers. Person won't give info to the family regarding what the doctors have said, what little info we get is generally lies. The info above is striaght from the doc or nurse. Trying to figure out how much time with have to save money for the funeral.

My skin on my face is horrible. Its very very dry when I get out of the shower, and I put rosacea medication (metro gel) and lotion on it (I use Lubriderm sensitive skin). The lotion seems to do nothing, because my face is still rough and peely looking. I do use an exfoliator periodically in the shower (once a week or so). I also have rosacea on my cheeks and my temples, and acne on my chin and around my mouth. I cant stand it! My dr. prescribed me the metro gel to clear up the rosacea, and he didnt think the acne was bad enough to warrant treatment. Im 27 years old, and Im sick of having teenager skin on my face! My diet does not consist of much fat, I eat healthy, I do not smoke, I drink TONS of water, so im not sure what the problem is. Ive tried being on the pill, that didnt work (now im thinking about getting pregnant, so thats out). My doctor has prescribed me other medications for my face, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas as to what my problem is?

she went into the hospitol with bruised and swollen feet. the doctors at first (of course) thought she was abused. but tested for allergies, diabetes and other things. on day 2 they rulled out abuse because while in their care her arms and legs began to swell and bruise and now on day 3 her neck and face. they ruled out allergies and diabetes.
they thought it could be HSP...but have ruled that out as well. she seems to be in so much pain and they keep taking blood (which hurts her) and taking different test after different test. they can not find anything wrong. except that she is bruising and swelling in front of their eyes.
please if you have heard or seen anything like this before explain.
her circulation seems fine.....it's a mystery right now.
leaving the family feeling very helpless.
she has a twin brother who is healthy. he can not go to the hospitol to be with her due to it being rsv season. both babies obviously miss the other.
please help.

I was doing well but in last month I have been short of breath. I am taking Coreg, Altace, Warafin, Zocor and Lantus Insulin. I think its the medication so doctor has significantly cut my doseage in last 3 weeks. I find that I don't get as light headed since he cut my doseage. My blood pressure is normal and my lungs check out ok. My oxygen level is 98 to 100%. I don't have the stamina and can't figure out why. Doctor is puzzeled also. My blood sugar levels are also great and within range.

I went to the doctor's office earlier this month and they found a bump on my left breast. They did an ultra sound and they recommended to get a byopsi taken. Is this commen for a 25 year old? I'm a little scared. I've been through a lot in my short life and I wonder if its because of the trauma I've been through. :(
