My skin on my face is horrible. Its very very dry when I get out of the shower, and I put rosacea medication (metro gel) and lotion on it (I use Lubriderm sensitive skin). The lotion seems to do nothing, because my face is still rough and peely looking. I do use an exfoliator periodically in the shower (once a week or so). I also have rosacea on my cheeks and my temples, and acne on my chin and around my mouth. I cant stand it! My dr. prescribed me the metro gel to clear up the rosacea, and he didnt think the acne was bad enough to warrant treatment. Im 27 years old, and Im sick of having teenager skin on my face! My diet does not consist of much fat, I eat healthy, I do not smoke, I drink TONS of water, so im not sure what the problem is. Ive tried being on the pill, that didnt work (now im thinking about getting pregnant, so thats out). My doctor has prescribed me other medications for my face, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas as to what my problem is?

That sounds awful. I've read that most skins are best treated with washing with only water. You seem to be using a lot of chemicals. I have a really oily T-zone so I picked up a vanishing cream (spectro) from the drug store. It keeps the oil at bay for most of the day on my forehead and nose. I break out on my chin with stress and I've heard that this area on either side of the mouth is linked with the ovaries. I find mine clears up with lots of sleep and organizing my deadlines to allow for better hours in bed. I also had a facial done at a place where I wouldn't normally go because of the cost, but it helped for about a week. Also, the type of water you drink is important. Water can have several minerals in it which help regulate our bodies, even our hormone levels. Look into imported waters with high mineral content in glass bottles. Generally they are only a few pennies more expensive than regular plastic bottles. The naturally effervescent waters are always a good bet.
good luck.

I can understand your frustration. I have the same skin type as yours and trust me, even the most expensive brands like Chanel are not going to work. The foundation will eventually sink into your scars and pores. Your focus right now should be on shrinking the pores. I use Freeman's avocado and oatmeal clay mask. Its available at CVS for only $3! Use that twice per week for at least 3 weeks and you will notice a difference in the pore size. Then, use Bare Minerals powder foundation because this is excellent for medium coverage. If you use a powder foundation, then your scars and blemishes will look even darker mid-day. I have experienced this and trust me, there's no cure for this but to use a lot of concealer instead of foundation. But honestly, stick to natural looks because you don't want to break out more. Don't use Ponds because this'll break you out. Use Clean & Clear dual action moisturizer that's formulated for acne prone skin. You MIGHT want to try out the Bare Minerals primer as well, because that gives great lasting power but it broke me out. If you go to any ULTA store, they'll give you a free makeover. Just tell them that you want to try out the Bare Minerals foundation. The girls at ULTA are very nice, they'll also suggest any other products good for your skin and might be able to give you some tips and tricks to apply foundation. Good luck :)

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

it might be genetic. but my guess is your skin is dry because of all the medications you put on it. stop using medications for a while and see if there's any improvement. also, I have a feeling that you're stressing out too much over your skin and the stress is reflecting on your skin. stop thinking so negatively about your skin and it'll get better. besides, i'm sure you look awesome with our without the perfect skin.
