One of my very best friends just found out she might develop Type 2 Diabetes in ONE YEAR if she doesn't do something about it NOW. Well, I'm very worried about her and I'm asking for her if anyone knows of any really good books about diabetes prevention she should read - or if there is a good website that gives lots of good information. I was trying to search the net earlier for her but couldn't find anything too substancial... Any help you could give would be great - THANK YOU!!!

I was diagnosed with chlamydia about 1 year ago took my antibiotics but I didn't go for a re-check. There was a lot of things going on at the time.. I went through depression due to other things and I just didn't care about a re-check. Now I am having my next Pap done in 2 weeks and I am soo nervous that It developed into pelvic inflammatory disease... I am not sure when I got chlamydia and I was for plenty of pap tests but they didn't find it until they had to search me for everything. So it could have been awhile.. how long does it take for it to turn into PID?? and i was also reading that PID has a relation to HIV.. is this true.. don't you have to come in contact with someone who has HIV to get it? Sorry i am a little panicked, I am a hypochondriac.. lol... does anyone know how effective the antibiotics are? anything would be helpfull. thanks :)

My daughter is 2 and takes Pulmicort Respules 2x a day. Our current (insurance provided) nebulizer is slow and loud. I've heard the ultrasonic ones are great, but Pulmicort can only be taken with a JET nebulizer. This is for home use only, so size is less of an issue than speed and noise. Thanks.

I have been having really bad headaches... Tension in the cerebral area, sensitivity to light and sound. My doctor looked at my tonsils, and saw that they were very large, which is normal for me,... she assumed that my headaches could be caused from lack of oxygen to the brain when sleeping or sleep apnea caused from my large tonsils... Can teens get sleep apnea? And is it extremely harmful for a teen to get? I am only 17... thank you!

Okay, foolishly I did not listen to advice when I was a young acne-prone girl and went ahead to pick at my facial pimples because I could not stand them. Unfortunately, as a consequence I have gotten numerous acne scars and blemishes (dark circular pigmentation-little brown spots along my chin and cheeks [they are not raised, my skin is otherwise smooth save for the discoloration], I have a relatively tan complexion). Is there any way to get rid of them, or at least make them appear less noticeable(preferably a relatively cheap, at home-convenient solution, or am I doomed to working towards the day until I can afford a medical/laser treatment?)
I've heard of chemical peels, mederma, scarzone...do those really work-especially since my skin problem is obviously affected by something deeper then the superficial layers of my epidermis?
All suggestions welcome!

About three years ago, I contacted Genital Warts. I was not told of her condition at the time. I have had all warts removed, and keep up with the ones that re-appear every now and then. Since there is really no test for a man to tell weather or not you have them cellular, I am unaware of that possibility. If I keep myself clear of a visible warts, am I still contagious? Also, I have met a wonderful woman, and she accepts my problem, and we use protection everytime. So far she has not contacted the virus. We would really like to have a baby, but to do this, we would have to have unprotected sex. What are the chances of her contacting the HPV, and also, what are the chances of the baby having HPV? Or are we never going to be able to have a child together? This virus is very confusing with so many different versions of how it can be transmitted. I just would rather be safe than sorry, and I would never want to put her or the babies life in jeopardy.

First you need to know a little family history. There is NO ONE on either side of my family with diabetes.I come from healthy stock.I quit smoking about 15 months ago and in the process gained about 20 or so pounds.I had a diabetes test about a year ago and was fine.Well I found out today that i've got diabetes. What the HELL???? Did I get it from the 20 lb. gain?Did I quit smoking just to get sick? This is a serious bummer.

My mom in law has had cancer- thriving and in remission - for the past 10 years. This last round has left her ill, tired in body and spirit and giving up. Note, this is not a person who normally would give up, and it appears she's thought about it well. So now, how do we help her with this decision to die? My spouse is taking it quite well, saying it is fully her decision, but my bro in law definitely will not take it as well.

Any suggestions, ladies and gents, on how to make this easy for her? Be aware, there is no way to convince her to continue treatments that don't seem to be working. Nor would I try to force that on her.

Mine was my 1st diagnosis @1150 mg/dl on the high end (went into db coma, required double insulin IV's), and on the low end, @19 mg/dl, which I brought myself up with lots of m&m's.

I'm not proud of it, but can anyone beat that?
