I'd like to know what's the possible causes for having a bladder infection in women. I have read that some bacterias are already present in the human body and make an infection when they go to the urinal system, but I'd like to know the most common reasons for having this infection..Also, does the alcohol combination with sex helps bacteria to grow?

I am a type 2 Diabetic. It was caught early enough to where I am not on medication and the disease is being treated by exercise and eating the right combination of low carb foods. It's been about 4 years now and so far so good. However; someone told me that no matter how hard a type 2 Diabetic works at keeping the disease under control, that the pancreas completely wears itself out over time and that all type 2 Diabetics eventually become type 1's. Is this true?

Sometimes I get pain on the whole front side of my face (either left or right, not both) and it feels like it is in my nose, ear, cheekbone and jaw (like wisdom tooth area). I had the wisdom tooth already removed there (no cavities) so I wonder if this is "ghost" pain from the tooth or a migraine? Or sinuses? Anyone have something similar?

One of my best friends has developed neuropathy from problems stemming from diabetes. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Can massage help him, or slow the progression of the disease? I want to do whatever I can to help him.

I saw on the health channel last night that there is a mutated gene from, scientists think, the survivors of the bubonic plague that prevents the people who have it from getting sick from most viruses. One man who has the gene, which has been isolated, did not get HIV even though a batch of blood he received was infected. Scientists are trying to learn from this to prevent epidemics. What I wonder is, what will happen if we cure everything or have a shot for everything. How are we going to have a life if there are too many people to feed, house, etc; when populations explode from all the advances in medicine and natures was of purging itself is taken away. What do you think? I think we won't die from disease- we'll die from starvation and friction between the masses.

I have worked in data entry jobs off and on for several years. The last data entry job lasted three months when my right shoulder and arm started flaring up. I am in a lot of pain. I would like to know if surgery is an option.

I have had a persistently red nose everyday for the last 8 yrs : (

I never thought anything was abnormal-assuming it was typical teenage stuff until the rest of my acne cleared, but my nose did not. I immediately went to the doctors and was diagnosed with rosacea.

I responded well to oxytetracycline and was on a fairly heavy dose that completely cured the swelling and brought it down to a tolerable, but still fairly unsightly level.

However, I gave up after 2 months on a lower dose of minocycline as it didn't seem to respond.

Now a few years later, 23 years old and at the end of my rope,
I've given the minocycline another go, yet after 6 weeks there is still no sign of improvement.

I've considered IPL, but am concerned about making matters worse, as whilst persistent, my rosacea very rarely deteriotates like it used to and the parts cleared by anti-biotics rarely flare up.

So my question is..has it been known for a rosacea symptom to be compeltely irreversible?
