My cat was just diagnosed with an infection, and I have to give him a dose twice a day. Will it harm me if i touch it or actually injest it. Should I wear rubber gloves or anything protective.... I'm being serious, so serious answers only please!

Answer:
1. what is your allergic reaction to amoxicillan? is it a simple rash; swelling of your airway; hives?
2. i am unfamiliar with how antibiotics for pets are packaged, but for humans, they are usually coated/encapsulated so by touching the pill, you're not touching the medication.
3. if you injest it (which i'm not quite sure why you would) you should seek medical care, especially if your allergic reaction to it is severe such as being unable to breath.

I'm allergic too and have dosed my cats numerous times with the stuff. No issues. You're safe to go --

No it shouldnt harm you to handle it. If your are that worried, it wouldn't hurt to wear a pair of gloves.
