It will be safe for her to breastfeed. However if she has an active outbreak then I'm pretty sure they should do a c-section rather than normal delivery. I read somewhere that the Herpes virus can get into the baby's eyes during a vaginal delivery and that's really, really bad. I hope your friend's Dr. knows she has this, for the sake of the baby.

I had caught herpes from my first daughters father she I was 6 months pregnant. I was concerned about breast feeding as well. I bugged my doctor, my daughters doctor, hotlines, and the hospital daily BC I was concerned she would catch it. They told as long as I was not going through a breakout that I has nothing to worry about.
I just my second daughter four days ago and I'm still be precautionary with the situation. Take a shower twice a day and take your meds (I take acyclovir 1g a day), have a healthy diet, keep up with spots, and avoid judgmental ppl BC they can stress you out and cause a breakout.
BTW you can call your local hospital and be connected to their lactation nurse for more info.
Best of luck to you and congrats on your little angel.

I was tested positive for herpes approximately six years back, when I was in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I suppose many of girls will say this but I swear I never did that sort of thing. I jud made a mistake that one time and, suddenly, it seemed like I was going to have to live with the problem for the rest of my life. The worst part was thinking I would never date guys again. After all, who wants to date a woman who has blisters around her you-know-what? But after a good friend showed me this video https://tr.im/herpesTreatmentYGl everything has changed. Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes virus from my system in less than fifteen days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so happy to say that just last week, in front of many people in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program gave me back the chance to be happy, and to experience true love.

It cannot be passed through breast milk. Contact must be with the warts themselves within your pelvic area. Zovorax( not sure of spelling) is medicine that is used when you have genital warts or they can be froze off. The only way to catch the virus is through sexual contact or through a vaginal delivery.

Please inform the doctor.
The child will get herpes witha vaginal delivery.
It is difficult for a mother to pass on herpes to her newborn unless she has contacted herpes during the last three months of pregnancy or if she has active herpes during delivery. In that case, doctors recommend cesarean section.

More important problem than breast-feeding baby is that the infection will be pass to baby during birth so she must immediatey tell about this infection to her doctor.
