I have worked in data entry jobs off and on for several years. The last data entry job lasted three months when my right shoulder and arm started flaring up. I am in a lot of pain. I would like to know if surgery is an option.

Just for tendonitis? Probably not. Besides, if you've ever had shoulder surgery, you know its the last option you would want to utilize. Cortizone injections may help relieve the pain and irritation as well as some NSAIDs. I had to have surgery on my shoulder but it was for a torn rotator cuff and they didn't even want to do that. It is difficult to deal with the pain but when there isn't a flare-up, you should be doing PT exercises to strengthen that area of the arm.

I had the same problem. One shot of steroids fixed it. That was 15 years ago. A doctor did it,and cost 90 dollars.
