My husband developed stomach problems when he was 21(loose bowels, bloating, painful cramps). He's already been tested for parasites (which was the first guess since the problems developed while he was in South America). While I welcome any educated guess on what might be ailing him, I specifically wondered if food allergies can manifest themselves in adulthood, if that's something we should think about getting him tested for.

Here's some more questions just to make my question clearer.

Does chicken pox in young adults affect their thinking ability? Can the person who had chicken pox during their young adulthood have their brain affected badly in some small way? Can it make a young adult develop depression? Can chicken pox in early adulthood reduce a person's intelligence and/or ability to think or function well after the sickness?

Of course this does not include those who had encephalitis or any other sickness due to the chicken pox they had.

I'm just wondering since the pox can reach your scalp/head right?... does it affect the brain in any way?

Here is my story:
My sister was a smart and successful bussiness woman...
skip to three years later after meth took over her life..she is skipping around from house to house doing god knows what...she's been arrested several times for burglary...and she even told me once that she will do a certain service to a man for ten bucks...her husband divorced her..my mother has the kids..(who are totally screwed up now)....she has gotten credit cards in nearly every family member's name..including mine...no charges filed for that..we feel it will just make things worse...

how does someone become so depraved?
I hate meth!

Sometimes my fingers swell up. Now this is NOT like normal edema; it will usually only be one or two sections (between each finger joint) at a time, and the swollen portions become red and VERY itchy and hot to the touch. My skin gets so tight it feels like it's going to burst. After a while, it goes away. I don't have any circulatory problems, and I don't eat much salt, so I don't think it's anything like that. It happens in all types of weather, and it doesn't matter how long or how short of a time I've been sitting or walking around. It's kind of scary! My doctor referred me to a dermatologist, but my appointment is months away. Anybody ever heard of anything like this?

I heard Carbamezapine has lot of side effects such as Urine Retention, Blurring of Vision, Depressive Moods, Suicidal Tendencies, changes of mood and such other symptoms. All these I have been experiencing, since 2001. Only recently I have come to know that Carbamezapine could cause them. I have got serum levels determined for Carbamezapine and it is less then Therapeutic level. I have taken Gardinal from 1981 till 1999 and changed over to Carbamezapine, (Zen Retard) with 100 mg in the morning and 200 mg in the evening, since 1999. The Depressive moods, Urine Retention and such other symptoms vanish for a period of few hours if I take an Anti Histamine (for controlling allergic sneezes) or if I do 120 sit ups. However symptoms return thereafter.

A friend of mine had an operation to remove a tumour from her stomach and after about 6 months it still wasn`t healing so the doctor had to reseal the area where he had removed the tumour from. This time he said he had done a more secure job and it will definately heal and it did.
A few months later the doctor discovered another, smaller tumour in the same area and she had to have another operation to remove it, just over a year later the area has opened up where the doctor had operated on the second tumour, the same as what happend with the 1st operation. Now she has to go back AGAIN and have ANOTHER operation to seal it, just like the first operation. Im annoyed about it because i feel he has made the same mistake twice.
(((So my question is...Should my friend be entitled to some compensation or even some free treatment?))) because each operation is costing thousands. If the doctor had done a more secure job of sealiin the 1st place it would have only been 2 operations instead of 4

I know that liver needs to be checked and if you get muscle pains you need to discontinue. But say none of these are problems. Do we know that these drugs are safe for long term. Have they been tested on human for long term?. One need to stay on them for forever. And the way these doctors are behaving now a days, they prescribe them even for moderately high cholesterol situations. My doctor tells me that lipitor should be put in tap water so that EVERYBODY can have it!!

Once, when I ate some miso soup which had sea weed in it, I broke out into hives all over, for the first time in my life. But I continued to eat miso soup occasionally (because it's just SO good!) and it never happened again, even though they all had sea weed in them. I figured it was just a fluke, but then I used a sea weed toner on my face, and my face started burning like you would not believe and turned bright red. So what's going on, I wonder?

Lately, if I eat anything with chocolate or chocolate chips in it, that night when I go to sleep, I find that I feel very hot, like I am sweating, but at the same time, I am freezing. No fever. E.g., I am so hot I want to kick off all the blankets on the bed, yet, when I do, I am so cold I put them back on, then I am too hot. It's so uncomfortable, it's like my skin tingles all over, too hot & too cold at the same time. It makes it impossible to go to sleep. The only common factor I find is that it happens on evenings when I have had a dessert with chocolate in it. Anyone heard of this?
