I believe there will be a cure for diabetes. There are simply too many people with the disease and that number is growing. Just in the US there are about 20 million people with diabetes. The main push is research for Type 1 diabetics. The Type 2 diabetics will also benefit from the research. It may take another 50 years before a real cure is found; however, there are devices that will be implanted under the skin that will both measure BG and deliver the correct amount of needed insulin being developed and studied today. These are pancreas replacement devices being tested. They're not perfected and very experimental and not many but the research continues. There are also independent devices, one to measure and one the delivery system. So medical science is moving forward. It's just that there are so many variations - just like differences between people - that have to be overcome before they can be made available. It's a matter of time as with most 'cures'.

A "cure" is already available, Pancreas transplant has been in use for several years.. However, it is only for type 1 insulin dependant diabetics and not for everyone. Type 2 diabetes is "curable" by proper diet, exerscise and education about the disease.. I have lived sucessfully with type 2 quite healthy for many years, and my husband a type 1 has done well too after learning the skills he needed to survive.
A real cure may not come for years, there is so much we just don't understand about the pancreas and how it works... but there are some great doctors out there working on it.

I know of someone that have diabetes and had an open wound almost 1 feet in size on the leg. Fully recovered on the wound and the sugar level back to normal after taking a product call Colostrum for about 3 months. That is not a medicine for diabetes but the good news is, doctor certify cure!

There is a cure. Diet and exercise. Stay away from all processed foods. Trans fats cause Type 2 diabetes.

Eat whole foods only preferable organic and lacto-fermented vegetables. Stay away from too much carbohydrates like rice or white bread. Eat plenty of health fats like butter, coconut oil, cod liver oil, olive oil.

I believe we will in my lifetime (i'm 55 and work in an endocrinology office). LOTS of research going on. And the cost of DM is enormous... better to cure and prevent than to throw money at treatment.

I couldnt agree with you more... they say they make too much money on the medicines to reveal a cure. Dont know how true that is but its sad.
