Lately, if I eat anything with chocolate or chocolate chips in it, that night when I go to sleep, I find that I feel very hot, like I am sweating, but at the same time, I am freezing. No fever. E.g., I am so hot I want to kick off all the blankets on the bed, yet, when I do, I am so cold I put them back on, then I am too hot. It's so uncomfortable, it's like my skin tingles all over, too hot & too cold at the same time. It makes it impossible to go to sleep. The only common factor I find is that it happens on evenings when I have had a dessert with chocolate in it. Anyone heard of this?

I've stopped eating chocolate. It just took a while to realize that was the thing that was causing this, since it happened with even the smallest amounts, like, when eating vanilla ice cream with a few chocolate chips in it...I'm not talking about eating candy bars here.

Yes I myself have been allergic for 20 years. It is the cocoa that we allergic to white chocolate is fine to eat. If to much cocoa is consumed you may get a rash or your throat could swell so I would lay off chocolate and discover more peanut butter.

It could be an allergic reaction, that is not uncommon for chocolate. Also, do you have diabetes in your family? You may want to get check the next time you have a physical exam. I would lay off the chocolate. Also, sugar is really bad and causes all kinds of problems.

Never heard of this reaction from chocolate. Usually with an allergy you get hives, breathing difficulities, rashes, ect. Never heard of an allergy like this. Maybe you should go to the doctor and find out what could be causing this.

ok subject you're able to desire to do is take a downer... IE... Benydryl, NyQuil, alcohol, dreminine. Now take an prolonged heat bath or bathe. After that placed a chilly towel on your face and lay in mattress listening to sluggish %. music and circulate to sleep to it.
