Reiki for a torn ligament?
My beagle mix has a torn miniscus. The vet wants to have him go in for a second surgery. (last time he opened his leg up and just tightened it) he said he tore it after surgery. Does anyone know about any holistic alteritives? I've read about Reiki but i dont know if that would help. Any help would be nice!

A personal friend of mine has had this disease for a number of years and I was wondering at possible treatments for it. She doesn't want to resort to radioactive iodine or surgical removal of the gland and has already tried acupunture as well as chinese herbs. Has anyone heard of any other methods of treatment?

I cannot afford a doctor, so if there are no over-the-counter solutions I will just keep my worms.

Just wondering. I read a book about it and did some research. I was skeptical, but told a few different people with different cancers in different stages about it. I'm not going to go into details, but my opinion is that it didn't help anyone. I do know one lady who claims her cancer was cured because of this. She refused chemo or any other treatments and her cancer went away. But, that's just one person and what she said. Does anyone have anything positive to say about it?

I've been having trouble with severe itching (creepy-crawly and pinprick feelings) for several months now. There is no visible rash (except where I've caused it by scratching). The doctor has treated for scabies (just in case) and my blood tests are normal. I use hypoallergenic everything (laundry soap, lotion, etc.), the pets checked out OK at the vets (no mites or fleas), I've checked for bedbugs (no signs), and can't think of anything else that might be causing the itching.

I asked my doctor about food allergy, but he said that food allergies can cause shock but not generalized itching, and if I was allergic to a particular food I would be able to tell.

In animals, whenever they itch and parasites are ruled out, that a food allergy is often suspected. Why would a food allergy in humans only cause anaphylaxis, and not generalized itching?

I'm considering trying an elimination diet to check for allergies. Any suggestions/links?

Other serious ideas are welcome, too.

I believe I may have a underactive thyroid. I have many of the symptoms, but I don't want to go on a synthetic drug and be stuck on it for the rest of my life. Is there anyone here who has tried any natural or herbal remedies for a sluggish thyroid? Did it help? Thank you for any responses.

I've been suffering with SI joint pain for sometime now, with numbness and pain in my leg (for 6 weeks). I had X-rays and an MRI which didn't reveal anything more than slight swelling in my SI joints. My orthopedic doctor gave me some medicine to reduce the swelling and prescribed physical therapy.

Therapy isn't helping much, nor did the medicine. I have another appointment with my ortho. doctor who I suspect will be recommending injections to reduce swelling/pain.

So with all that being said, I'm about ready to give up on traditional medicine...and try something else or just suck it up and hope it gets better.

Anyone had similar experiences or any suggestions?
