Urinary tract infection cure involves administration of anti bacterial drugs. Most UTI require administration of oral antibiotics. Serious cases of UTI, such as, pyelonephritis - infection of kidneys - necessitate intravenous injections.

Urine tests help in identifying the bacteria responsible for the UTI and a sensitivity test helps the doctor to choose the most effective drug. The physician has a wide variety of drugs to choose from and will consider the medical history and the overall health of the patient before opting for a particular antibiotic.
Conventional bladder infection cures are becoming much more difficult to manufacture in the lab, leading people to seek out more natural cures for bladder infections. Fortunately, there are seven potent herbs that have been shown to be effective in the treatment of recurring UTI.

They are:

Agothosma betulina, commonly known as the buchu shrub, is mostly regarded for its healing effects on the urinary tract. It has some antiseptic properties, and when combined with its diuretic capability, it can kill and wash away any bacteria inhabiting your urinary tract, making it one of the most used natural cures for bladder infections. Buchu has also been shown to alleviate the symptoms of mild urinary tract infections and even help with irritable bladder syndrome.

Taking uva ursi is another great method for treating a bladder infection. This supplement has been commonly used for years to treat glandular and urinary infections, and is highly effective in curing bladder infections as well. The antiseptic properties of the plant also ease swelling in the bladder to not only kill bacteria present, but also alleviate most of the discomfort associated with a bladder infection. Uva ursi is one of the great natural cures for bladder infection, but should not be taken for a lengthy amount of time, as toxic side effects may occur.

Lemon balm, while generally used as a mild sedative, also has some antibacterial properties which could prove to make it one of the most effective natural cures for bladder infections. There are absolutely no side effects associated with using lemon balm, so it can be used as long as you wish.

Throughout countless years of use in Europe, St. John's Wort has proven itself to be a great natural method for treating a bladder infection, among other things. It has rather powerful antibiotic compounds, which can be used either internally or topically, depending on the situation. When looking for natural cures for bladder infections, St. John's Wort should top your list, as its potent antibiotic compounds will cure your infection without any major side effects.

There plenty of homeopathic remedies out there that you can try to see which one works best for you. For me, it was using herbal treatments. The one I used Contains 2 formulas, Echinacea~Golden Seal, and a formula called Uriklean. Echinacea~Golden Seal is your herbal antibiotic and will kill any infection, not just in your Urinary system, but else where in your body as well. The Urklean Formula flushes out the infections, poisons, and toxins and mends and repairs the tissue.

One thing that is very important to prevent UTI's is to be sure to drink enough water. We should all be drinking half our body weight in ounces, per day! (I.e. If you weigh 100 lbs, you should be drinking 50 ounces, or 3 pints and 2 ounces. Not quite a gallon per day).

Good Luck and I hope this helps. . .

Lots and lots of water. The more you urinate, the more you can flush out the bacteria.
Sometimes antibiotics are necessary. If you have a fever or pain in the area of your kidneys, don't mess around -- it has already gone too far.

Addendum --
I noticed that some people are recommending pyridium -- Uristat or Azo. These over-the-counter medications treat the symptoms ONLY, they do absolutely nothing to clear the infection. The danger is, they can mask the symptoms and make you think you are better when you are not. Also, there has been a link with bladder cancer, when used a lot.

Drink lots of green tea, cranberry juice, pickle juice, and basically anything with vinegar in it! Also take a bath in baking soda and vinegar. Drinking or somehow swallowing baking soda helps out too. Take some goldenseal root capsuls as well. Try to prevent a UTI with these methods but not as sever as you would to rid yourself of a UTI. Clean out your system and keep it clean. Soda, koolaid, and some juices will surely help cause this. And absolutely NO caffeine! Take care of your body and it will take care of you. Good luck!

This home remedy is this best I've found. 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 6 to 8 oz of water, taken 3-4 times a day. The baking soda raises the PH in your urine, killing the bacteria causing the infection. You should feel the burning subside within 24 hours, if you don't, it is best to see your doctor.

Um, you should definitely see a doctor and get antibiotics for that one and forget about home remedies. A UTI can spread to your kidneys and bladder and can be VERY dangerous and very painful

The only way to get rid of a UTI is with antibiotics. Cranberry juice is to help PREVENT a UTI not cure one.

Go to Target or Walgreens etc... and buy AZO or Uristat. These will make your urine bright orange, but it makes it go away!
