A friend's son 3.5 years old - has been diagnosed with a rare heart disease. He will need to have an open heart surgery fairly soon, most likely within the next 2 weeks. Since this type of operation cannot be performed in Serbia, where he lives, we are looking for a hospital in Europe or USA where this can be done.
I would like to ask you if you know by any chance what would be the best children's hospital for this kind of surgery, or if you know anyone who has a child and had a similar procedure done. We are recommended some hospital in London, but I'm looking for alternatives in the rest of Europe (Germany, France, ...) and in the USA.

Okay, so I just got out of the shower, and I shaved my legs. Shaving is not new to me in any way. So I just got a few small cuts. Just as big as a few pen points. But the cuts won't stop bleeding! I keep soaking up the blood with a wet paper towel, but the blood just keeps coming out! I don't have any band-aids at home. So, how can I stop it from keep on bleeding?

My contacts have pretty much been glued to my eyeballs. I have a weird sleeping schedule so I sleep in them most of the week. Sometimes I can go a week without taking them out. I've been doing this for about a year. What could this potentially hurt my eyes?

i was intimate with a guy but no intercourse and the next day i got my periods (18th) which was a week earlier than usual which is 24th of each month ..after i got my periods on 18th i have not indulged in any activities. but i didnt get my periods this month and its 23rd now.. i dont thinkn i m pregnant bcoz i never had sex but then since i was worried i took home preg test and it come negative twice... i have been under lots of stress bcoz of exams and long distance travleeing and extreme change of weather.. what sud i do? i feel my breasts r tender and i m getting cramps in my lower stomach.. pls pls help.. my periods r usually regular

Yesterday, a friend was at my house and she accidently scratched my middle finger with her nail. It started bleeding, but I just bandaged it up. After she left, I properly cleaned the cut and put triple antibiodic cream on it and went to bed. When I woke up, the edges of the small cut had turned pinkish red, and the center of it had turned dark red. I just put more triple antibiodic cream on, what is a good way to make it go away? It doesn't hurt, just looks ugly.

I am 55 and had a complete hysterectomy in July. I almost died from pulmonary embolism after.

Two days ago,after removing two latex/plastic bandaids from my Grandson's back, the areas where they touched the skin was red and swollen. That night he was vomitting all night and last night he had a red rash all over his body and a very high temp. Both were gone by this morning, but his eyes were red and swollen for a couple of hours. He's back to his old energetic self now, but I was wondering if this could be an allergic reaction to latex. He has never been allergic to it before, and I've never heard of a fever with a latex reaction. Is this possible?

I was recently told by my doctor that new standards had been adopted concerning hbaic and dailey monitoring of blood sugar.Hba1c at 5.0 or below and meter readings below 100.These standards,to me,are totally unrealistic and virtuall unatainable.Some doctors fantasy.Anyone have any info or thoughts on this.When i was diagnosed 6 years ago,the numbers were 7 or below for hba1c and below 120 for meter readings.
