There are plenty of countries in which circumcision is not part of their culture, and is not commonly practiced. For example; Most European countries do not perform circumcision as a common practice to their newborn male population. Many South American and Latin American countries also do not include circumcision as a common practice. China, India, and a few other Asian countries do not practice circumcision. Some of the countries that do have circumcision as a common practice and even as a cultural requirement include some African countries, most middle eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Isreal, the Philipines, Australia, and of course the United States.

In Israel the circumcision rate is close to 100%, as both Jews and Muslims do it as a religious ritual. In Arab/Muslim nations, the rate is also very high. In non-Muslim areas of Asia, Africa, and South America, rates are very low, as is true in Europe. Routine infant circumsicion is illegal in Sweden.

Circumcision used to be popular in North America, especially in the United States, where it was widely but incorrectly believed to prevent masturbation. Rates have fallen in th U.S. in recent years, especially among the well-educated, as the advantages of being cut have largely proven to be mere superstitions and the disadvantages have become more widely known. Some ignorant people, for example, still believe that it is impossible to keep an intact penis clean, but that's just untrue. It is now considered cosmetic surgery, with the main "advantage" being that it increases the income of doctors.

Well over 80% of the men in the world are NOT circumcised.

Today it is difficult to pinpoint a specific nationality as circumcision is practiced world wide. The initial people that practiced circumcision where the Hebrews, Abraham was the first one to self circumcise himself. Circumcision was asked by God so he could differentiate his chosen people from all the others. We then have the Muslims that copied the Hebrews.

I usually associate lack of circumcision with a low socioeconomic status. I'm sure that most male infants in underdeveloped countries are not circumcised. I also assume that poor Americans don't circumcise their male infants either.
