When I get my period it's really light and only lasts for 1-2 days. I don't even have to use tampons or pads, i just use thin pantiliners. I started when I was 16 and didn't get it again for half a year, and now am kind of regular. I was reading in a book that girls have their periods for different lengths of time and heavinesses. I have been to doctors, gotten x-rays, blood tests, and scan thing that lets them see your insides and they couldn't find anything wrong. Am I not normal or just lucky?

My right thumbnail has a vertical ridge in the middle of it, and as it grows out, it splits. There is no discoloration. What causes this? My nine other fingernails are fine.

I have been back in full training now for the last three months, training includes, 12km on a bike 3 times a week, 6 hours cardio 3 times a week, + free weights.
IHeight of 6ft 4 weight of 16 stone 8 lbs
I have a very balanced diet, no major carb intake and healthy lifestyle. I am vey careful not to put muscles on but still can not loose weight. any ideas ?

The nurse brought in a tray with 3 shots and I started screaming because i cant stand needles. She told me to roll up my sleeve and i resisted and said i wasnt getting the shots. She called for help from the other nurse and she came in the room and held me on the exam table. The nurse then lifted my skirt up and gave me all 3 shots in the butt!!! It hurts like hell!! Any advice? Wasn't i treated 2 childish??

Since about age 22 i've had very very irregular periods...sometimes going up to 6 months w/o anything, then maybe a month or two, then a couple off. I'm a normal weight (5'4, 125 lbs) and I don't think i'm any more or less stress then the other guy (even though i did just graduate from law school and take the bar exam, but its been irregular way b/4 that. All STD tests have always come up negative. I also have some mild acne which I also think is odd as an adult!

Like the lactobacilli and others that are supposed to add healthy bactertia to your stomach and intestines. Can you take too many? I have been taking 4/day for the last 2 weeks of lactobacilli (stored in my fridge) to help counter the effects of antibiotics and last night got horribly sick and today just feel rotten. Could it be I have too many bacteria??? I should know this as a biology student, but I don't know if its possible!

I've been getting pain around my ovaries off and on for the past year. It's not ovulation pain, it happens probably once a week or so, and it can last anything from minutes to a full day. It's a sort of aching pain, usually on the right side, occasionally on the left as well. When I insert tampons it often causes an intensely sharp severe pain on the right side - not every time, I'd say about 50% of the time.

I'm not sexually active and never have been. I'm on Dianette (oral contraceptive pill) for irregular periods (I'd have them every few months, sometimes up to 6 months apart). I don't want to go to the doctor because I know they'll want to do an internal examination and I really don't want that.

So anyone who's had ovarian cysts - what kind of pain do you get with them? Or does anyone have any other ideas as to what this pain sounds like?

I was just wondering why so often you see very thin women, or moderately thin women complain about being heavy, but rarely see larger women complaining? I think as society in a whole we have placed WAY to much emphasis on what is on someones outsides versus the true person on the inside, and it is affecting people's minds. she's 6 years old. i'm 5'6 and her total height comes up to my stomach. she still have to sit in a car seat because she weighs 37 pounds. that's what my mom told me. she barely eats and is always playing. she doesn't like to eat much. just junk food.
and you can see her bones and veins through her torso. it looks disgusting. so is she anorexic or is she just skinny or what?
