I was just wondering why so often you see very thin women, or moderately thin women complain about being heavy, but rarely see larger women complaining? I think as society in a whole we have placed WAY to much emphasis on what is on someones outsides versus the true person on the inside, and it is affecting people's minds. What is your take on the whole situation?

As a man about to enter his 40's I find the whole women and weight issue puzzling to say the least. Often the women I hear complain are one of two types:

Type A) Early 20's no children extremely skinny to the point of being unattractive

Type B) 30+ some children with a few "extra" pounds, which can usually be attributed to the pregnancies.

Let me just say to you what I told my wife:

Women, REAL women, are NOT supposed to look like Supermodels. Supermodels do NOT have to go work in an office 40+ hours a week, eating what they can on the fly ( usually processed foods because its all that they have time for ) and help to maintain a household. Supermodels have only one thing they are required to do and that is to look like a supermodel. So instead of the office they go to the gym, with their personal trainer and they eat almost nothing but when they do its high priced health food the normal women could NEVER afford.

Ladies, Be PROUD of your bodies. You look as women as meant to. And ALOT of us men find you to be absolutely beautiful.

If youre concerned about your spouse ( male ) finsing you unattractive, read the book For Women Only. It opened both my wife's and my own eyes to alot of things and allowed us a better understanding of how the tohers thinks ( and yes there is a For Men Only and it is just as enlightening )

I think that some thin women are fishing for compliments when they complain. I can't stand that - not the fact that they're thin, just that they feel like they have to beg for attention. Not-so- thin women are in sync with their body image and self image

When a thin person sees themselves as over weight, there is a psychological problem. It could be an eating disorder or a body dysmorphic condition. While social attitudes contribute to it, the root cause is usually deeper.

I agree. Little small things who call them selves fat irritates me!
I think we do place a massive amount of emphasis on how much we weigh! not only that but how big our breast and butts are, how are hair looks and what things we should wear!
I think that it's because of what we watch on T.V. and read in magazines!
I truly believe people are meant to be how they are we don't all need to look like plastic pin up girls or we would have all been born that way!

skinny women don't have problems so they create them. Fat women have accepted the fact they are fat and they know that everyone knows it...

(my answer was only half serious).
