I had walking pneumonia two years ago and ever since then I haven't been feeling so great in the breathing department. Is it possible that the pneumonia could have caused "hidden asthma" to surface? I have always had allergies. Could it be possible I have always been close to having asthma but the pneumonia has finally set it off? I often feel as though there are little straws in my chest and when I breathe they get stuck (as if they are flimsy like when you suck on a straw and try to get liquid out of a cup and it closes up a bit).

Also, I do have an inhaler so that I can take it when I feel tight in the chest. But I was never actually diagnosed with asthma..so I am not sure what to think. Could it just be that I have weak lungs? That they are damaged from pneumonia? I did have it from about August until January and just couldn't shake it completely. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My friend just had a melanoma removed on her leg a month ago and two days ago they removed her lymph node near her iliac crest. The preliminary biopsy says it is not melanoma, but now they suspect it is low grade lymphoma. One doctor told her it could be a "false positive" Pet Scan. There is another suspicious lymph node at her aortic base. They did not biopsy that. Is it normal to have a melanoma and lymphoma, or did they just happen to discover these inflammed lymph nodes because of the melanoma promting the Pet Scan. Is it possible she has always had inflammed lymph nodes? I sure hope so!

On my father's side of the family, all of his siblings and parents have diabetes, but my father doesn't have diabetes, but could have it when he grows older. On my mom's side, no one has diabetes.
Could I be at high risk for diabetes?

My fifty something cousin was diagnosed as a youngster as retarded, come to find out in the last month, she is not retarded but autistic. All our lives we thought she had a great memory and a gift for numbers, but had strange behavior socially. What a weird feeling now to find out she is autistic. I feel for her and my now since dead uncle who lived thinking and reacting/perceiving etc. to my cousin as if she were retarded. Makes you reconsider what people who are given the label "mentally retarded" go through. We need to reconsider our reactions to everyone, including those who are truly "mentally retarded" or however you want to term that. What a shame for everyone involved.

I have a hot temper with things sometimes. I get easily annoyed and bitchy at the drop of a hat, and really I don't mean to do that. But I feel like I cannot gain control over it.
When I get angry sometimes I even have the urge to throw things or hit the person that did something to annoy me.
This is causing problems with my relationship with my significant other and sometimes my family. How can I have more control over my angry emotions and not get so easily frustrated or annoyed?

Read that eating peanut-butter daily in small amounts is good for your health because of the peanuts vegetable oils. Is that true? Or you better off eating the same amount in plain peanuts?
