There is no easy way. Nicotine addiction is a combination of physiological and psychological. All of the "just stop" responses are from people that have probably never smoked.
As a former pack a day smoker, I tried to quit several times. The last time I tried to quit, I used a combination of things. I chewed the nicotine gum and when I wasn't chewing the nicotine gum I had a piece of regular sugarless gum in my mouth. Find some kind of support group. I went to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings (it sounds funny, but its true). The 12 step program for alcoholics also works for other types of addictions. For the first two to three months, stay away from environments where there are smokers (casinos, bars, etc.). Exercise, eat well, and keep yourself busy. Too much idle time will have you thinking about smoking. Good luck.

all the previous answers are of obviously no help. The only way
to quit smoking is: you really have to want to.
You can buy Patches, Gum or have the Doctor prescribe Zyban
for you, these will help.
You can stop cold turkey I did it after 45 years of smoking.
I did chew gum for a couple of weeks, but by that time I didn't
like the taste anymore. If you feel a craving coming on, go to your computer play games, drink water after 5 minutes the craving will pass. If you go to your Pharmacy ask the Pharmacist for a booklet, its free and there are also phone numbers you can call for support. And surround yourself with non smokers.
YOU CAN DO IT. Good Luck

There is no easy way. No, actually I think acupuncture helps.
But, absolutely nothing staves the cravings of the smoking a cigarette. You just have to have the will power to stop. I quit cold turkey. I fight the craving damn near every second I'm awake...its only been about 3 weeks. But dammit its so much better than smoking. Yeah, its hard but I feel so good to not give in.
My ex-boyfriend tried the patch......he was smoking within a week.

there are NO easy ways to quit smoking, It's one of the hardest habits to kick, but with the proper help you can succeed.
there are many sources of help out there, including your family doctor who can prescribe Zyban which helps eleviate withdrawl symptoms as well as help you stop thinking about the cigarettes, There is also Nicorette gum to help with the habit part itself.
there are also many online resources, and smokers helplines ,

As well as your self determination, you need to be willing to quit in order to quit,.
Even if you do quit for a few days and have a relapse, dont give up, try again,. the more you try, the more success you will have,.
Some people have the will power to quit COLD TURKEY,. but it's one of the hardest ways to do so..
I personally recommend Zyban
I smoked from the age 12 - 36, and have been smoke free for 4 wks and I still use the Zyban till I have the confidence , that I wont go back to the cigarettes.
GOOD LUCK.!

i bought a hypnosis CD and had a reiki massage that was 10 days ago i have had one smoke in that time (was a packet a day) and felt horrible having it. i feel great now and am really positive i wont go back. try patches, chewys or gum, lozenges there are a few different things on the market now but you have to find what is right for you and have the guts and determination to do it. i looked at my kids and envisioned them smoking in 10 years and i didn't want that!

when you get any money send it to me!!!
I know your thinking of a name for me.
but there is a gum out there that might work for you and I heard of a pill in the new that stops smoking cold but I do not know what if anything happened to that or being hushed up .
I want to share a true story about my uncle, He smoked since he was 14 all the way up to age 76years old and he went in for a check up and the doctor checked him up and then he looked him in the eye and said "you better stop smoking now! or you'll never live to see your next birthday which was 2 months away.
WHAT DO YOU THINK HE DID? yup you guessed it cold turkey!! he stopped but he also loved to bowl a lot and that was great and he enjoyed it but it made his back hurt and get arthritis the lower back and it keep getting worse until he could not stand t anymore so he checked into a hospital and asked for them to operate on the spine and clean the arthritis out of the lower disks - - - well that would have been it. the operation went fine they thought. he spent one night in ICU before going home .
but when he woke up in the morning his belly was ballooned up like he was pregnant with twins. it was a form of cancer called germ cancer it had attached itself to the outside of all of his organs and was just waiting to trigger or have something trigger it.
they drained his cheat and belly three times and his blood cell count was deadly low and each time they drained him they got 2 2 liters of vile yellow fluid and he was in pain from the first day it started to the day he died 5 days later. so again if you want to stop I hope and pray you can stop cold turkey! I miss him still today and I always will . he thought he was in the clear of cancer but it came back to stab him in the back not a joking way of play on words but actual a stab in the back (Lower part)

easiest is NLP hypnosis...u're gonna have to program yourself to be cool in situations where you used to be smoking and around other smokers. 1/2 hour NLP session should do it.
