My boyfriend wants to take up a new hobby to pass the time but hasn't been sure of what he wants to do. Can anyone here suggest any cool, fun or interesting hobbies that are good for men other than sports, video games, gambling and porn.

I am trying to find a way to have preschoolers paint and decorate dishes for gifts. I was thinking plain white stoneware with acrylic paint, but then wondered if the paint would come off in the dishwasher or peel off with use. Also, is it foodsafe? Thanks.

Some businesses in my town are sponsoring a Goose Decoy Decorating Contest. The geese are to be decorated by local artists and returned for judging and silent auction. The geese will be auctioned off and all proceeds will benefit the Domestic Violence Center in our town. Sounds great, huh?

There is also a $100 prize for the best goose. I know there will be 60-70 other geese and I just really want to have fun with it and benefit a great cause.

I saw three examples:
1. Goose with a snowman winter scene on the side.
2. Goose painted in a patchwork style with friendship quote.
3. Goose with an afro and green sunglasses, decorated 70s style.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

I make quilts, but I have not done a lap quilt. My friend wants me to put together her lap quilt for her, but the top is just 1 piece of preprinted material. On my quilts I sew several peices together and I tie a thick string threw every corner of it to hold it together. I do not want to do this to hers because it would interfere with the picture. It is about 48" by 56", any suggestions. Thank you

Any tips on scrapbooking old loves? I married now and don't want to emphasize the "love" I had with the ex-boys. Both for my husband and kids. However, they were a part of my life and I would like to keep that memory. Any tips or ideas on how best to go about this?

For anyone out there who writes and has a love for the craft knows what I am talking about when I say the "feel". It is the connection you have with the characters of you stories. They are real to you not just figments of your imagination but real people that you have created.
I've known that I've had a talent for writing since fourth grade where I always outshined everybody in my class without meaning to. Everyone has constantly told me how good my writing has been since then.
Now, I am a junior in high school, and just three or four months ago, I lost my "feel". I can no longer "feel" the characters of my stories and story-ideas. There is an impenetrable wall blocking me from them, and I want to see them, touch them, know them, feel them again, but my reach is not long enough. I'm sure several of you out there have experienced this in the past. If you could, please give me some advice on how to regain my "feel" and my talent I once had. Thanks so much! God bless you all!
