homecoming float!?

Question

I need ideas for our school's homecoming float!

we are the brookwood broncos, and we are playing the mustangs.
our school colors are maroon and gold, and our homecoming theme is hollywood.

any ideas?

"Horse Crazy" ( Hollywoood movie title from 2001)

Possible Slogans:

Broncos Mane event: Stir Up some Mustangs!
or
Broncos Rock the House and the Horse!
or
Bronco's Horsepower Stampedes Mustangs

Build a corral (fencing with chicken wire) on the float...with Hay.... Build a little building (the size of a dog house) in the middle of the corral that has a sign on top of it that reads" "Mustang Hospital" Rent a horse costume. Put a sign on the horse that says the rival schools name "_______ Mustangs" Put those wearing the horse costume, along with people dressed up in the colors of the rival team INTO the corral. On the outside of the corral are students in YOUR school colors teasing the mustang and those pretending to be mustangs about losing.... If you can, put people in football uniforms representing both schools. Put huge signs that read "Horse Crazy" on both sides of the float (for the Hollywood theme)

I think you get the idea...Can your school mascot be on the float too? Sometimes the grades compete with each other so the mascot can't be on any class float. Inlist the help of Parents....we can do amazing things and have amazing connections...do they still stuff napkins into chicken wire along the flatbed and then spay paint it?

If you can get a flat-bed truck, it's the best... strong and plenty of space to build on.

I'd go with a film-set for a western... you can pick your era! Check with your classes theater-geeks... they can build virtually anything, yet make it lightweigh AND sturdy.

Perhaps a "saloon" shoot (maroon flock wallpaper and gold trip ? Dancing Gals in maroon dresses?)... Broncos beating up the Mustangs... two rival old west gangs ?

If you're LUCKY, and can get some horses... have cute gals riding alongside the float.
