Most good craft stores sell an imitation gold leaf, and the sizing. It works the same as the real thing, but is way cheaper. Look for it in Michale's and A.C.Moores. I've used it many times. I got mine at A.C.Moores.

Depend on what you want it for. If for lettering, a small tin of Humbrol or Revell gold (cold) enamel paint costs about £1.15. If its for something intricate craft shops sell a 'gold paste' in a tube. Costs about £7.00 and lasts for ever. Its available in different tints of gold (antique, burnished, red-gold etc) I've had mine for about 10 years and I've still lots left. Used it for touching in repairs on gilded frames. Note that these items are not of gold, they contain copper. If your project requires actual gold then gold it will have to be, but these give the gold look.

You can get gold foil now that is really thin and can be adhered to anything using glue or double sided tape. I was sent a free sample from someone on ebay!!!

Gold metallic paint looks good, or gold stamp pad ink.
