other tools that are not powered but can do the cutting efficiently will do too. I will need to cut holes in the middle of the board as well... Thanks

This is really stepping out of my area of expertise, but I will try to help. As far as the plywood goes, I believe any name brand saw would do the job. It's not the saw...it's the blade. If you go to a store like Home Depot, explain your project, they can give you expert advice. Depending on the size of the holes you need, I know there is an attachment that hooks on the end of a drill that is used to cut holes in doors to attach the knobs. There is also a saw that had a round blade, that is held like an immersion blender that will help you cut round holes. Ask the person in the store and they will let you know what I am talking about. I hope I at least steered you in the right direction.
