My 3 year old son has a Thomas Train Track that is plastic obviously. He has a good 'ol time playing with it until his 1 year old sister comes along and destroys the train track. lol.

I was wondering if there was a cheap and easy way to make the train track not come apart. I was thinking about super gluing the pieces together but wanted to check here first.

Any tips or suggestions?? All the help is greatly appreciated!

We are stealing him away for Father's Day weekend and there is a Super Dad costume contest. He will not even know he is going until the day we leave. We haven't ever done anything like this for him and want everything to be the best! So of course we want him to win this very cute contest! We would like to play on the fact that he is the father of 3 daughters, without necessarilary dressing him in pink! We are a pretty crafty group so don't hold back! Thank you so much!

Where can I get the paper for making sewing patterns? I need a lot of it and I need it pretty quick, so bricks and mortar stores would be preferable. I am in the Chicago area. Thank you.

The idea would be reasonable simple to produce and I think would be used by all quilters and other craft people.

As an ex-sailor, I looked forward to a new hobby - building a model of the Bismarck through an in-parts magazine. It would be a hobby, and I would have a model at the end of the day.
The first issue is usually at a sell-off price, so I bought one for 50p - usual price £4.99.
Only when I read through a mountain of leaflets did I find a single mention of the fact that the model came in 140 issues. This meant that the end model would have cost nearly £700 - and probably ended up in the garage!
Should the publishers of these multi-part magazines be made to show how many issues are in the series?
I once bought a series on car maintenance - handy, I thought. But at the end of the day I paid over £200 for them. A good DIY car maintenance book would have cost less than £30.
Are these people ripping us off, and should they be made to advertise the cost for the complete set?

I'm hand sewing the quilt top and made my own stencils for quilt motifs. I don't want to damage the quilt I've worked so hard on.

I know it sounds wacky, but I'm not kidding. The monetary value of the stamp isn't more than it's .37 price (it's a few years old), but it does have some sentimental value.

My sister is becoming a cross stitch freak and every little spare time she has you will find it with her tools in a corner somewhere working on cross stitch.

I would like to create a pattern for her birthday, with a design that I made especially for her.

Can anyone suggest what should I do. Maybe there is some online to that converts pictures into patterns....

Why does the lady I buy candles from give me such detailed instructions about candle care and maintenance, like it's a plant or a kitten?

She tells me how long to keep it burning and how to trim and even replace the wick. What did I sign up for here?

Does this thought really run through anyone's mind, "Gee, this candle has been really great but I'm ready to not have a candle burning anymore and go to bed. OH WAIT I need to let it burn for another 45 minutes, empty the wax, and trim the wick with my wick-trimming shears."

To me, it's even worse than worrying about squeezing the toothpaste from the base.

Thoughts?
