You need to start by putting it all out on paper officially and registering it for patenting. Then you need to take it as a proposal to someone with money and try to form a partnership.

You can go ahead and start on a patent, but remember that a patent is only good as long as you have enough money to protect it. Unfortunately, big companies wipe out mom & pop ideas because they've got more money!
If this is very simply to produce, then start on producing it yourself. You can start selling it out of the back of your car, basically, or at quilting shows, etc., where you might find like-minded people.
Don't spend this money you get on anything other than building your business. There are some manufacturers that will do small quantities here in the US (assuming you're in the USA), but don't start thinking about Chinese manufacturers, just yet! That's for the big boys & can be a shark's market.
The biggest tip I can give you is to begin building in propective costs for your company into the price now, so that it doesn't have to raise very much when you begin to step up into the bigger retail markets. You'd be surprised how much packaging alone can cost, much less PR!
A general rule of thumb (and this will make anyone who buys anythign at retail *sick*) is that the manufacturers will charge you double what it cost them to make, you as the wholesaler will charge retailers double what it cost you to get from the manufacturers, and the retails will charge their customers double the wholesale price. As I said, this is a general rule, things do vary on occasion!
Best of luck!

Before you reveal your idea to ANYONE, educate yourself about copyright and patents. I recommend the book "Protecting Your #1 Asset". It covers the different types of protection and is pretty understandable. Look for it at your local library. It's part of the Rich Dad Advisors series.

Like all the rest, have your invention patented and try to approach a financier. Goodluck.
