Don't know about books, but a coin dealer will usually give a free quote to a coin value. The coin needs to be graded, for grade determines the value. Coin has to be seen to be graded.

For coin values, I'd check in your local yellow pages for collectors and ask them. Books, I don't think would have much value unless they are first editions in mint condition.
