We're having English style pastys for dinner tonight. Yummm. These and a salad, and dinner's complete.

How many of you in the US have heard of these? I live in Michigan. One of the churches sell these as a fund raiser. I buy lots, and freeze them. Only $3 apiece, and they're large.

What sort of food/drink do you crave when you feel like your Mom should be taking care of you? The stuff you remember making you feel safe when you were a kid. Outside of the classic ice cream or chocolate. And is it localised to where you come from? For instance, when I'm really sick I want hot sweet boiled tea, with Carnation milk in it.

I want to make an assortment of goodies for my honey on the other side of the country, namely frosted sugar cookies. It will probably take about 5-7 days for them to get there, any suggestions on how to ship baked goods without them crumbling, drying out, moving around in the box, or going bad?

There are different types, so I just put Jerky. The most common is probably beef Jerky.

Also, what part of the world do you live in?

Thanks for the answers

Is it me or are you generally disappointed with the food you eat out.I much prefer the wife's cooking and O.K.it's nice to give her a break and to go out but isn't the food so often rubbish no matter what you're paying?

I was just wondering, I drink liquor socially myself, my party drink is Wray and Nephew w/ OJ. But when you think about it, why do so many people drink alcohol and beer? Like Hennessy and Vodka even my favorite drink that I've listed, Jamaican rum is overproof, None of the drinks are sweet like Alize or Hypnotiq or other beverages to make you want more. So what draws people to drink alcohol and beer, its bitter and very cruel to your insides when drinking it straight. I was just thinking about it, because I'm sitting here drinking French Vanilla coffee and the person who made it didn't put enough condensed milk in it, so it has this bitter-sweet after taste, (more bitter than sweet) but yet I still want some more... lol I know it seems like a silly question, but you can still answer it.

5 years ago, I only notice one type of peach in every stores...and it always good. But now I see about 10 types of peaches and I can't completely define a normal peach now. I kept hearing that there is a bussiness that makes new fruit that caused this...but is it true?

If it is, how did they do such a thing?

I want to eat healthier sandwiches, but I also want to try and get some good flavor, too. Some whole wheat breads just taste like cardboard.
