5 years ago, I only notice one type of peach in every stores...and it always good. But now I see about 10 types of peaches and I can't completely define a normal peach now. I kept hearing that there is a bussiness that makes new fruit that caused this...but is it true?

If it is, how did they do such a thing?

Plant Geneticist make a decent living creating hybrid plants, veggies and fruits that have a longer shelf life, travel better, and 'custom made' for today's consumers.

Sheesh....there are VARIETIES of different fruits. The characteristics vary from variety to variety. Although a plant geneticist can create hybrids, so does mother nature. Two varieties in close approximation can cross pollinate.

When one variety is resistant to a disease but another one isn't, one can genetically modify the weaker of the two by inserting the stronger's gene. This will make the weaker variety resistant to the disease also. It will not turn it into some Franken-fruit that will destroy the planet.

It's so strange! I would like to eat ONLY real fruit!
May God help us! Everything that's genetically modified can be dangerous, so dangerous!
