Since some fast food joints are already selling salads with chicken, how about fat-free or reduced fat and non hydrogenated meals such as sandwiches, pastas, home-made pizzas or burritos made like pizzas or subs. Whole wheat double fiber breads and whole wheat pastas. The option of turkey or chicken (all of which are cage free and fed natural and/or healthy food themselves) with vegetables or soy burgers or other such healthy options. The person getting it can order it before leaving their house or place of business and have it ready by the time they get there for specialty meals, or these meals can be prepared ahead of time and ready to go (heat and serve). Also a selection of fruits to go and healthy mixers of vegetable juices &/or fruit juices, low-fat milk or soymilk, as well as an offer of healing herbal sugar-free teas, fiber drinks, etc., if not just water or flavored water to quench the thirsty palate. And for people who are into health bars, diet bars or energy bars. And don't forget a healthy selection of nuts for those who don't want fowl or fish (which if offered can be done in a healthy way). Also maybe some type of Chinese dishes that won't take long to fix.
And as far as cakes and pies, something low in fat and calories made with Splenda or all natural flavors (from the fruits and vegetables themselves) that won't instantly jack up someone's blood sugar levels. And some options in dark chocolate which is said to have antioxidants too. Real fruit pops and iced fruit to go in the summer. Heated cinnamin apples and pumpkins in the winter.
As for names: Healthy-topia, Healthy Eatery, Fitness Foods Plus, Health To Go, Health On A Bun, All Natural Food Delights.

Well don't mind the people that are giving negative feed back. Yeah it is our descision on what we eat, but if restaurants start serving more healthier alternatives it could help our obesity population out a bit. Sure it's going to be hard for them or some of us to turn down that fried chicken sandwich or a bigmac, but when you have more healthier options to choose from it makes it a little be easier and little less guilty when there are more salads, grilled lower fat meats, low fat chips, and fruit bowls to choose from. No it's not the fast food chains fault that our american people are so over weight but is their fault for serving such unfit food. This is a fast pace world and stopping in at BK or McDonalds makes it that much easier. Let's open up a place and we'll call it "TLC and U", we'll serve nothing but lowfat foods from all over the world. Good question.

They'll sell exactly what they've been selling. Obesity is a sure sign their products are profitable.

Fast food's appeal is really the fact it's tasty finger food. Healthy finger food would be what? fruits, raw veggies, nuts (which are fatal to some), boiled eggs?, a baked turkey drumstick? You see the problem? I can't stand tofu and most things soy. Immitation burgers and fake cheese on pizza aren't going to cut it.

For names: How about TwigNBerries? Fiberspace? The Root N Tootin Cafe?

Veggie burgers (or a veggie/meat combination) on whole-grain buns, with low-fat ranch or thousand island dressing, & baked veggie fries or chips. I think the chains have sabotaged such concepts in the past by going too far; the standard seems to be a taste-free slab of "meat" on a bland bun with nasty fat-free dressing, so it's no wonder no one buys them. It's all about moderation; it's amazing how much better a "light done right" type dressing or mayo tastes than a fat-free dressing, but people seem to think it's all or nothing.

It's doubtful that any alternatives a fast food place offered would be much better. Already, we can see what's happening with some of the offerings. Salads that have as many calories as a whopper. Grilled offerings loaded with fat and so-called healthy deserts loaded with high fructose corn syrup.

Why are we blaming this on the Fast Food resteraunts? Are obese people really stupid enough to eat McDonalds and wonder why they are fat? They made the decision to eat bad food and never excercise and now they want to blame it on someone else just like smokers and parents who buy their kids violent video games.

It's not the responsibility of the food chains to regulate our diets and weight.
