I share your disappointment. My husband used to get take out for us almost every night for months when I was sick. Not only was the food of poor quality (no matter WHERE it came from), but they almost always got the order wrong. Unless you are cooking your own food or have a private chef, be prepared to eat food that you don't want or like. Unfortunately, the family cook (your wife) will need a break from time to time. Although it may seem stale, try to find one place and dish that you DO like (or can tolerate) and stick to that.
As an alternative, cook a larger quantity of something that can be frozen on plates as homemade TV dinners. On her "day off" reheat two of these and take her out for dessert, coffee, drinks, or a movie. That way you get good food, made to order, and she gets a trip out somewhere. Works for me!
Good luck!

I hate eating out, especially fast food restaurants. I would rather cook any day. I spend my whole lunch hour driving around looking for something to eat that isn't fast food then I usually end up at a grocery store buying a can of soup and taking it back to work. As long as it isn't burgers and fries, I'm ok.

I would say I like my wife's cooking also, but when I have gone out to eat the meals are generally pretty good either high priced or middle of the road.

Homemade is always best to me. I kind of get disappointed when I eat out too. Not very good quality of food unless you want to pay top dollar at a high end restaurant.

I prefer to cook myself....I can make a way better meal for less money and I can cook pretty much anything, including seafood. I would rather spend my money on ingredients than give it to a restaurant. For example I like shrimp. I would rather be able to buy 2 lbs of shrimp and make it myself as opposed to going out and ordering a shrimp dinner for the same price.

I, too, prefer home cooked, in general -- though there are some things I've had that were very nummy.
Why don't you cook for your wife sometimes? (Unless she's one of those people who just loves to eat out -- some people just do.)

I agree with you. Unless you go to a 4 or 5 star eatery and spend skip your next house payment-eating is is more comfrotable and relaxing. Most resaurants anymore bring your bill right after you get your food. They want to rush you through dinner.
