it's not "right" but I'm pretty sure lots of people do it

I do!

After paying $20 for two people to get into a movie, I'm not gonna pay $5 for a popcorn and another $4 for a soda....those people are crazy!!! =)

Is it ok most theatres say no, by policy, some say it is OK and they dont' care. My opinion. If i am at a dollar theatre where the ticket is 1 dollar or 50 cents, i BUT FOOD THERE. I want that theatre to stay open, plus if i get a large soda and drink for $7 i get a 1 free refill each which to me is better than a small with no refill, then i am supporting the theatre and they can stay open and i can continue to watch movies on the big screen at a cheap price. If it is a theatre where tickets are already $10 each take some food i mean lets be realistic here, If i just went out to dinner for 30 and am spending 20 for a moving I am not about to spend another 15 just on 2 sodas and a popcorn.

I always do, I have three children and it costs £25 just to take them to the movies I am not then paying £5 for popcorn that I can buy for £1 at a supermarket and then £3 for a coke and I can get a whole bottle of it for £1.

So for the four of us instead of paying £32 I pay £5 and smuggle it all in the kids ruck sack and my large hand bag.

Make sure you don't get caught though.

It sure is. The movies charge way too much to get in and then way too much to eat. Why should anyone have to pay $8 for a soda and popcorn combo? $3.50 for a hotdog and $3 for some candy? I say sneak in as much food as you possibly can without getting caught.

We do it everytime we go into the movies. It is ridiculous to pay $4 for a small bag of candy. We take candy and soda but buy the popcorn. I don't see any rules against it just do it. If enough people did it maybe they would stop charging so much.

hello to be honest with you i used to sneak food into the movies because i thought the prices were way out of bound so before i would go i would fill my purse up with pop and candy and i would just pay for the ticket and i got away with it for awhile but there was also that one time that i did me and some friends of mine got caught and they kicked us out neat less to say i pay for my pop and 0.

Yes. The restriction on banning outside food is enforceable when you are caught as you are entering the cinema.
So- hide it well. Buy something from them like a drink. Those are harder (but not impossible to bring in) to hide.

I can't say that it's 'okay', but since the gosh darn prices for movies are so high these days, I think we deserve to be allowed to bring in cheaper priced food.

Theoretically, no. But realistically, absolutely! I hate to pay $5 for a candy bar. Just hide it well-in a slightly over sized purse. Happy snacking!

Why would you consider it sneaking? You have a right to possess anything you want in a free society.
