I had a chocolate frosty from WENDYS yesterday and it got me thinking... what exactly is the difference??? I mean the baskin robins chocolate milkshake does taste a little more "chocolatier" but other than that... what is it? I mean it can only be that they put more ice cream in their shake and WENDYS doesn't. The difference in the price is HUGEEE. The wendys small frosty is only 99cents where as the small shake in BR is 3.59 or something.

I am now on my third microwave in 2 years. Whenever I put microwave popcorn or tortilla chips in a paper bag (like from a restaurant) in my microwave it starts shooting sparks and flashes of light and sounds like it is going to explode. My new one that I bought last week hasn't started this behavior yet, but I'm sure it will. Any ideas?

I was just wondering. Seems like tips are not expected at the places people are paid the least- like McDonalds and the like. However, when I order to go from more expensive restaurants where they get paid more, some times they seem to expect it. Some times I do, some times I don't tip them. However, if I do eat at their restaurant, I'll always leave a good tip.

After you wash up the cutlery, do you put your knives, forks or spoons with the handle in the cutlery drain or with the handle sticking up? I chose handle down so that more cutlery can be put in, so that I can see what is a spoon or fork, but also to stop the eating part of the cutlery getting coated with the scum in the bottom of the cutlery drain. On the otherhand, handle up means you only touch the cutlery by the handle. So what do you do? Automatic dishwasher-owners need not reply :P

When you buy food, how often do you consider the ethical implications of your purchase?

Do you buy fair trade?

Do you buy organic?

Do you buy GM-free?

Do you buy free-range eggs?

Do you support local producers?

Do you even understand half of what I'm talking about?

Please state where you are from when you answer.

A lot of supermarkets are doing this now. Kroger, Marsh, Giant Eagle, and Big Bear are the ones I know of, and I'm sure there are many more. Their philosophy is to jack up every price in the store, then give you a discount on some of them (if you remember to bring your card), and act like they're doing you a favor. I HATE them. The only reason I still go to those stores is because they're nicer and more convenient than supercenters like Wal-Mart and Meijer. But my grocery bill at those supercenters is always lower than the regular supermarkets, even without a stupid card. Imagine that.

I mean, its the most tasty thing in the world, but we wouldn't miss it if we'd never tried it. What would be the alternative food for when we feel emotional? What would be substitute in all those delicious ice cream and cake flavours?
