I mean, its the most tasty thing in the world, but we wouldn't miss it if we'd never tried it. What would be the alternative food for when we feel emotional? What would be substitute in all those delicious ice cream and cake flavours?

Well I guess you could find me climbing the walls when no chocolate would be there any more... But to answer your question, There is a substance in chocolate, that stimulates the endorphin release in the brain... (the "happy" spot, that part of the brain is called)

Sugar is a fast "shot" that stimulates the release of endorphin, So I guess everything with sugar in it is a short-time stimulant of your "happy"spot (oops that sounds weird.... well you know what I mean)

There are other substances that stimulate the endorphins, but I am not a food expert, nor a brain surgeon... just chocolate junky... I admit it...

(Oh you could try cocaine or meths's but as they also produce endorphins, but I wouldn't recommend putting that in cakes or ice-cream, it also at the same time kills the brain surrounding your "happy spot"... which is a bit taking it too far, as you won't live long enough to enjoy your "sweet kick" I'd go for sugary things)

We wouldn't miss the clothes on our back if we had never had a society that wore them, that doesn't mean I want to be naked in the streets in the middle of winter.
Chocolate is here and it's here to stay - thank heaven for small mercies in this big bad world!!!!

Chocolate is perhaps my all time favourite food....i could quite happily have it fed into me by intravenous drip..... so many days it has made me feel a little bit more able to cope, it has made me treat myself when i know i deserve it and nothing can take the place of that!

I wouldn't miss chocolate I am not fond of it, I can sympathise with those who would miss it though because I couldn't get through the days without a lovely cup of tea !!!!!

i can't even imagine a life without chocolate, but it sounds miserable. if life without chocolate did exist, then there would be a lot more murders as every woman i know (including myself) turns to chocolate to calm down at "that time of the month"
