If the house is not really hot, even if they are peeled, boiled eggs will normally not be dangerous just after one night. I mean from say 5 pm one night till 9 am the next day. And, I am talking a temperature that one does not sweat and suffer from heat.

If they are peeled, several days are not a problem at all.

If they are bad, there will be a bad odor. A normal fresh egg odor means they are okay to eat.

In our society, we have learned such a high level of luxury that people no longer have any idea when stuff might be bad. Boiled eggs do not spoil quickly. If you mix them with mayonnaise, that is a different story altogether.

Edit: When I was a kid in the 40's and early 50s we did not have electricity. When we first started spending time in Mexico, we did not have a refrigerator. So, we had to know when food was good and when it was bad. This is an old skill which has been lost in modern times because most people have refrigerators. Sort of like knowing how to start a cooking fire.

With boiled eggs, you can quickly detect a change in texture and/or odor long before they actually become dangerous.

Sure I have done it all my life. We had bowls of colored hard boiled eggs sitting out for days around Easter time although I would really recommend keeping them refrigerated so they will keep even longer.

The question I always ask myself when it comes to any type of food I think may be bad...is the cost of the food worth the cost of the emergency room & vomiting?

It's not a good idea. It more than likely won't make you sick, but it definitely can. Especially if the temp in your house was above 75 degrees overnight.

I especially wouldn't give them to children or anyone who may get sick easily. (grandma or grandpa)

It is ok to eat them after one night. I would throw them away after that. Not worth getting sick.
