I would love to do the same thing and thought about it alot, but never really acted on it. It sure is alot of hard work, so be prepared.

first of all, you need a business plan. That will help set you up for success if you have it all planned out. Make sure that if the location you are looking at has been a restaurant before, try and find out who owned it and talk with them first hand. That would definitely help you learn from their mistakes. Thoroughly research what restaurants in your town do the most business and why. That too will give you a hint at what to do and what not to do in your new adventure.
Good luck!!

wow best of luck.

I've heard that franchises are the easiest way to succeed at this type of business (and I think it's always better to set yourself up for success. . . ) However, I have never opened a restaurant. Ask someone who's doing what you want to do --and whose restaurant you like.

there's a book/series of books called Rich Dad, Poor Dad. if you google it and the author you will find lots of websites to post this question for more ideas.

but good luck to you!!!

You will need to get a business plan together prior to applying for a business loan. Word 2007 has great templates for that!! Good luck!
