I know you don't just grate the spuds and fry them, they turn into mush.

I've tried rinsing the grated spuds, I've tried steaming the rinsed grated spuds, I've tried boiling it first, I've even tried deep frying.

I just can't figure it out. How do you make those great hash browns they serve with eggs over easy at the restaurant?

We've got Bailey's Irish Cream, DiSaronno Amaretto, and Kahlua.

We've also got plenty of ice, half and half, whipped cream, milk, coffee and other mixing ingredients.

What do YOU have around the house for the season?

I'm making a crockpot recipe, and it said 8 hours, but I thought it said 6 so I started it later.. it's supposed to be on "low" the whole time, but I was wondering if people who are more experienced with crockpots than I am knew whether it would be okay to turn it to "high" for a couple hours to shave off time? I'll include the recipe
.
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 lbs sweet italian sausage, meat pushed out of casings
1 medium onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 14.5 oz can cannellii beans, drained
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tea black pepper
1 14.5 oz can chiken broth
1 head escarole, washed and chopped into bite-sized pieces
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1. In lg. skillet, med heat, warm oil; add sausage and onions; cook until brown and onions soft, about 7 min. Drain fat.
2. Add mixture to the slow cooker crock, then add other ingredients except escarole and Parm. Mix till tomato paste dissolves.
3. Cover, cook on low for 7 hrs. Add chopped escarole, stir and cook 1 hr. Top w/cheese.

I read the bottles, and it always sounds good, but the only time I really enjoy my wine is when I go out and have a expert choose it for me, I like a semi-dry wine, red, with a smooth taste, can anyone name me a good wine to buy?

Meaning, if someone gave you some and they just didnt seem to work well. You ask and they are over a year old, do you need to take twice as much or are they just done and you throw away. I was told they were always kept in the freezer too.
thanks
(oh and hey this is for my "friend" not me, haha!)

I have a couple of small skinless, boneless chicken breasts, and I was going to cook them in the oven, but Im told they can come out quite dry without the skin.
Any thoughts? I'm getting hungry...

Every year we buy half a beef, this year we used a different processor then usual and they packaged 5 or 6 lbs of seasoned ground beef in a bag for making burgers. Note: our order was frozen at the processor. I have always been told you cannot refreeze meat. So what can I do with this beef? If I make burgers can they be refrozen? Or should I just plan a big BB-Q and get rid of them all at once? Maybe a large pot of chilli :)

Thanks in advance.
