that's the fat from the chicken, low grade chicken meat more like the dark meat. you would have never noticed it if it had not gelled.

Most likely it has meat in it. But don't stress. We are human and we make mistakes. I personally am a vegan. But I am not a "perfect vegan", because there is not such thing. I do my best to not eat, wear, or use any animal product as well as I can. And If I do make a mistake like eating a cooking with milk or eggs in it or something, I reconize it and remind myself to never eat that again and check the labels and ingredients better. I think you should just not stress about it. Instead of stressing you could be doing something for the animals and sticking up for them. Just don't let a little chicken noodle soup keep you down in the dumps and keep you from being the voice for the animals. I know how you feel, just don't let it get to you.

It's okay to eat it. It's called chicken fat. If Progresso would have purchased younger hens and pullets when they were cooking the soup in the big vat then you would not have to see all that yellow oil in your can of soup. But Progresso can't afford to buy the expensive ingredients; thus, you get old chickens instead of the young ones. Sorry; but that's life.

There are yellow "gloops" at the top of most broth based canned chicken soups (orange "gloops" in beef based soups). It's chicken fat. If you don't want it, just take a spoon or a paper towel and take it out before taking out of the can. They're only on the top, as fat rises to the top.

dork angel, those yellow gloops you mentioned is chicken fat. It gives the soup flavor. It is safe to eat. It will not harm you. You will love the soup. I eat the canned progresso soup myself.

Yes you can. Those yellow blobs are just concentrated chicken fat, which is what gives the broth that authentic chicken flavor. I like it, but I agree with you that it's not fun to look at uncooked.

All it is, is a little fat that has risen to the top. Carefully lay a small portion of a napkin over the blobs. It will absorb the fat and then you can enjoy your soup!

Yeah, as long as it's not past the expiration date. It's just the fat from the chicken anyway. Heat it up and stir good.

Sounds like fat, which the stock was made from. Its normal. when you heat it up they will dissolve in the soup.
