I am allergic to eggs (and three times as allergic to the white as the yolk so substituting that really can't be done), and I deal with it, but, as the holidays approach, I really miss baking a few treats once in a while. I've tried various replacements ... and thrown a lot of food in the trash when it came out flat or runnny or whatever. So, I'm looking for people who truly have made items minus eggs that have come out just fine. I've tried substitutes with pancakes, too, and only end up with a runny mess that I scrape out of the pan. I figured this might be a great forum to ask this; thanks so much for your help.

I am giving a presentation on a pretty impossible topic: I am working for an organisation that want to BAN eating meat in all public places. The idea of the presentation is not the logic, but the quality of the presentation itself.

My task in the presentation is to offer alternatives following the transition to a forced Vegetarian society (other than in the privacy of your own home).

So I ask you: What would be some good alternatives?

So far I've come up with the fact that we'd support and open up vegetarian restaurants and super markets that would provide a wide variety of foods other than meat. If you are the "low-life" that has to consume meat in your own home, you can buy it (rationed and by prescription, of course) only from our supermarkets.

Any more ideas? Due tomorrow!
Thanks so much!

question 1: why does sweet tea get sweeter the longer you leave it in the fridge?.....it tastes great when you make it but the next day it tastes so sweet it's like something you'd put on pancakes!
question 2: why is it when you eat something sweet (like cake for instance) and then drink sweet tea, the tea does not taste sweet?...if you eat more cake it still tastes sweet but sweet tea does not taste sweet any longer!....anyone know?

So last night at my husbands request, I made tater tot casserole. The recipe only calls for ground beef (I used turkey, it's healthier), tater tots, cream of mushroom soup, milk and shredded cheese. I substituted cream of chicken soup because IMO cream of mushroom is bland. I also seasoned my meat with both garlic and onion powder. It still came out pretty bland. My husband loved it but I need more flavor in my meals. Has anyone ever made this and spice it up somehow with some other flavors?

I was wondering if anyone's ever read a study on the effects of exercise on hangovers. I'm 31 now and a lot of my friends say they can't drink as much as they used too. They feel the effects worse the next day. I, on the other hand, have started to have less effects the next day while drinking the same amount. In fact, compared to the same time last year, I bounce back very quickly. The only thing that I'm doing different is I'm exercising a lot more than I was last year. I usually work out 4 times a week, though sometimes I'll do less, and rarely skip a week. I don't like to use anecdotes as evidence, so I'm looking for something more scientific.

Crazy enough....I have plans to participate in a chicken wing on the grill contest. I have already asked for recipe's, but now I have to decide whether to seperate the wing into a drum stick and cut the pointy thing off or leave it whole for the contest.
I have never made wings on the grill, so this should be interesting. Should I seperate the wing or leave the whole thing in tact? Suggestions are helpful since I have never done this before.

My boyfriend moved to Arizona during the summer and he came and suprised me not that long ago. Hes only staying here for two weeks and is leaving on the day of our 11th month anniversery. I want to take him to dinner the night before. Only i don't know where to take him. I want to suprise him and i wanna have fun and i want him to enjoy his time with me before he leaves. Im even thinking of making him dinner instead. But if I do, what should I cook him? Where should I take him or what should I do?

My parents are coming into town and I'm making a new egg dish--it's eggs, bacon, cheese, and bagels baked with some other random ingredients. I've never cooked for them before (I have for others, just not my parents) and want to make things look good for them. I will probably make a fruit salad, but what else would be a good side?

If you choose to be a veggy is it like sexuality and it's because it's the way you are, or do you tell yourselves that its ok if you change your mind one day and start to eat meat again?

As a meat eater i just can't understand the other side. its like you are being stubborn to your urges.
