i've been a vegetarian for 3 mos. now. about a month or so ago i began to have musty b.o. i've always used dove or degree for deodorant as its always worked. then i was told it was due to a change in diet & i realized that was the only change i had made. i dont want to cover up the smell with another scent. i want to adjust the problem! how do i stay veggie without the stench? if youre a veggie has this happened to you?

You might be eating too many processed foods.

i have been a vegetarian for about 13 years now and i know what you mean. not so sure about it being "toxins" coming out of you because it's been going on the entire 13 years I have been a veggie so you'd think i'd be detoxified by now if that we're the case.
i have just switched to using men's deodorant (unscented if you are a girl and don't want to smell like a guy) because it's stronger. it's interesting because I don't sweat more...i just stink more! it's embarassing.
from what i've been told, if you are supplementing your diet with animal proteins like the ones found in cheese, that can contribute to b.o. (processed, aged cheeses supposedly can give you stronger body odor). also, if you are eating more veggies in your diet that are strongly scented like peppers or using more seasonings in your food (as alot of vegetarians do, for flavor) that can also contribute.
just wash your pits with antibacterial soap and try a new deodorant...sometimes you get stronger scents as you get older or sometimes you need to change deodorants once in a while. don't give up on being veggie!!!

I've been a vegetarian for about 15 years, and I haven't noticed a change in smell. However, I did choose to stop using commercial deodorants due to the aluminum content. Using more or stronger deoderant could cause your body to absorb more aluminum, leading to Alzheimer's disease or other illness.

Try using a little bit of baking soda mixed with cornstartch. Simply apply this dry, either in addition to or instead of your deodorant. It works more than you might think. Whenever you feel wet or smelly, simply apply another thin layer of the baking soda mixture.

People tend to become "addicted" to deodorant. That is, their bodies adjust to the deodorant, and lose their natural ability to fight bacteria. Washing too often can contribute to this effect. Once your body has made these adjustments, any change in the deodorant itself can cause you to "stink" because your body can't compensate. I suggest allowing your body to regain its natural ability to fight bacteria.

If its bad for you, why would you keep it going?
Note: if you stink, It might be doing more to you than driving people away.
