I need an idea for my husband's graduation cake--he is graduating with a degree in accounting. Any ideas for a shape and a saying? He thought this day would never come!!

I want to do a housewarming party on may 21st (monday and holiday). I want to do an afternoon thing so it doesn't have to be a whole meal thing and so we have the evening to ourselves. What do you think is the best time for the invitation, it could be something early like 1h30 PM or as late as 5PM (like a "happy hour"), if you were invited to such a party, what time would you like it to be?

I've recently decided it's about time I learnt how to cook. So far I've been using smoked fish or canned food in my cooking to ensure I can't get food poisoning.

I know I could simply copy the instructions in a cook book but is there any way to tell for myself when the food is cooked well enough to be safe?

Ok I need help desperately! I live in Oklahoma, attending bartending school and I am at the end of my two weeks. I passed my Mid term and Final all written of course. NOW I have to take a speed final of 12 drinks in 7 minutes. I have studied my *** off and I have done quite a few practice speed finals. But it seems that either the drinks I am iffy on get called or I get them all perfect but missing the mark by just a bit timewise. I am a firm believer that bartending is not just about speed. Its about quality and taste. Who cares if you can pump out 12 drinks in 7 minutes?! Does it taste good? Are they coming back for more cause it does? I just need help. I don't want to label it as cheating, maybe just assisting or helping. But is there a particular list of drinks that is used for this speed final that I can get from you and / or anyone else so that the drinks can be narrowed down? I have literally been taught over 225 drinks in 10 days! And I need a job asap, my bills are so far behind and I want to start working and learning first hand as soon as possible. But I can't seem to get by the speed final. The association that I am under is ABLE, and the school I believe is associated with Texas school of bartenders ( I dont know if that helps) so if you have any info you can give me on this I would so greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so much!

Yes the let me do free pouring. I am not sure anyone understands. I guess I am being lazy but honestly I dont want to overload my brain with recipes that I am never going to use or that are wrong.
WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR:
I have seen my instructor give a few of these speed tests and I even took two practice ones. All of which we read off of this one sheet. So I am guessing it is the cuiriculum speed test sheet. It has like 5-6 groupings of drinks. I rather memorize 60-72 drinks that I most likely will not use than over 200!! That is my problem.

I made a pot of black beans last night, which were still tough by dinnertime. Luckily I found a couple cans of them. So I saved the beans, and reboiled them today and they're fine. So now I have a ton of black beans and rice, and refried black beans. What are some different ideas for the beans I just cooked off??

I really don't want to throw them out.

I would think that people who avoid eating meat and only eat everything other than meat would never be overweight. What do you know on this topic?

Anyone tried the Tofutti non dairy chocolate icecream? I had some today and it gave me diarrhea, big time. Is there such thing as having an intolerance towards foods containing soya? I had some chocolate milkshake my sis gave me some time ago and it also contained soya, had no idea at the time but that also made me go to the loo BADLY. Anyway, does it have some kinda laxative effect. I saw in the ingredients that it also contained guar gum and some other gum, could it have been that?! It tasted nice at the time (i was craving choc icecream and this was the only kind left at my local store). So do some soya products cause diarrhea for some people? Is this normal? Any input/comments would be greatly appreciated, no laughing please :p

Is there a website where you can make all your favorite foods you've grown up with but without the excess fats, sodium content, and high carbohydrate percentage? You know, you make everything you've always wanted to have without it tasting like you didn't use the heavy heart clogging stuff? In other words, it would taste just like the original but it would have less fat carbs and sodium content.
